The Pain Cave & Shed Awards

Yeah mid winter here, 12C, rain alternate days but can get a little stormy, soon feel the wind on the front, but I still love just watching out.

New love for sea swimming when can just walk down and back up in wetsuit and change in shower after!

I went in winter and arrived to golf ball sized hailstones😱

Went up to Brisbane and it was bloody glorious

You wanna be eyeing up a road trip to Port MacQuarie for that Ironman™

Wrong coast. He’s in Perth isn’t he?

Adelaide!
Perfect to head south to Melbourne, Tasmania, then up to Brisbane, via a small race :+1:t3::wink:

Pain cave could be a little camper van.
We could all live vicariously through Chris :blue_car::swimming_man:t2::biking_man:t4::running_man:t5:

Ah, I thought Chris was heading west for some reason.

I’m some way along the process of fixing up our pain cave. Treadmill should be arriving this week.

One of my sons wants to get a bench press. I know nothing about these so googled it

The suggested search terms do NOT make me want to get a bench press :open_mouth:

So what is a good suggestion for some gentle weight / resistance training kit for a somewhat puny middle aged triathlete, who has not a scooby?

Those search terms! :joy: :joy:

Can a gorilla rip your arm off?!

Yes. Categorically yes. With ease.

If it’s not free weights than accidents like that would be a rarity, surely. Money no object I’d get a state of the art bowflex system, which are even safer. Most home gym systems will be a stack of weights on pulleys though and should be safe to use by any muppet.

Something like this?

Can’t help thinking it’s straight from the centre spread of Gimp Weekly

Yep, that’s the sort of thing. Don’t go attaching any of the pulleys to your nipples and you’ll be alright.

A gorilla and a lion in a fight to the death too!

I’d go gorilla, much more dextrous and could probably take a bite or two from a lion. He may die a couple of weeks later from infected wounds though, so wouldn’t be able to capitalise on his success.

Agree. Apparently a gorilla can bench 2400kg. What can a lion do, eh?

(Not that I followed the links or anything)

I’d agree.

First blood to the lion but once they’re up and close the gorilla would rip it to pieces.

Smashing its chest in victory :gorilla: :crown:

It was kinda hot. And I’m worried about annoying the neighbours by opening the windows :man_shrugging:

Had a bit of a clear out of the summerhouse yesterday (aka pain cave) and thought I’d best check the Use By dates on a couple of nutrition items in there.

  1. A large tub of maltodextrin - March 2008… :face_vomiting:
  2. Some unopened Nuun tablet containers - August 2013… :flushed:
