The Pain Cave & Shed Awards

There’s some brilliant caves here but the one in the prison khazi is my favourite so far

Ooof. That gives me a funny feeling in my crotch area. I am, as the kids say, well jell.

Mr Sten just wondering before GF moved in why did you turbo in the hallway?
I would have been in the living room in front of the manhoosif plasma all single men have for watching ‘personal’ programmes

I need to get a better job! Or actually crack on with my plan to win the lottery.

Yes, as the garage needs constant access for builders, I have to use a ‘pop up’ training location too, which is usually the utility room. It does add considerable time getting everything set-up without damaging the units as I shoehorn myself in there.

Same. My setup is the utility room. Complete faff getting going and packing away but I’ve no other choice

Really enjoyed this thread. Quite envious really :+1:t2:

Current standings:
I think the Pauper award is as good as sewn up, I can’t see anyone beating Doonhamer’s khazi. (I’m actually looking forward to going in my cramped, damp, cold, cluttered shed by comparison)
The Dentist award is a little more open with a few runners and riders still in the reckoning:
Davem - hard to beat an endless pool but loses points for still being under construction.
Spoonman - bonus points for taking N+1 to extremes but loses marks for the Nazi gold connection.
Fat Bhuddha - excellent balance of bikes, rower and pleasant surroundings. Not sure whether to add or deduct points for the most middle class pass time of Skiing equipment being on display.

But he has mountain bikes and a Concept2 rower to more than balance it out.
Only nutjobs have indoor rowers.

Also, his is the only one where I can see core equipment, too. (Foam Rollers)

There’s a reason Toblerone comes in gold bars too.

Whilst I’m not in the top half of the Dentist league - the biggest change to my concrete set up was duramat tiling on the the floor.
Massively brightened up the room, no longer had everything covered in concrete dust and far easier than sealing and painting the floor.
Its also pi55 easier to find bike parts you drop on the floor.

(no affiliation to said company etc etc)

The living room is carpeted. Did you see how much I sweat?!

Plus, I very rarely watch TV whilst on the turbo. Trainerroad on the phone, whilst listening to a podcast (often the trainerroad one as it’s looooooong) is what gets me through. Occasionally I’ll watch the football (or [insert other live sport here]) on the tablet.

@davem that looks great! What are the dimensions of your endless pool and any ideas how small they can go? We are about to convert half our lean-to into a utility room, leaving the other bit undeveloped. Wondering if my half-baked dream of getting an endless pool in there is even possible.

TBF I can’t ever see us having enough spare cash lying around to fund it anyway but a man can dream.

how much does an endless pool cost? There might be room in my kitchen

I’m thinking of ditching the wife, dropping to a single bed and putting in a 9ft long endless in her place, should work out cheaper in the long run

Is that the same type of stuff as Ecotile? That’s what I’m getting next week.

Yeah looks identical. Its great choice for flooring from my experience.

We’d be doomed… at the last 2 races, she’s been the only one sober enough to go to the bar…
