Old dog is ready to roll

Decided to skip using my tubs and whacking on the old Zipps so I can at least get home if I puncture.

Do you not own a mitre box and hacksaw?
That chimney :see_no_evil::scream:

Did you fit the Wattshop wedge? Was it easy?

@Poet - tbf I do move the stem up and down that chode. I figure I need little comfort for 15 miles tomorrow :rofl:

@Jgav - the wedges are aerocoach. Pricy but very easy to fit. They simply bolt on

I’ve got an out and back 10 in the morning. Last time it was strong tailwind out (downhill), tomorrow is headwind out, so interesting to compare. Thinking about attaching gopro to the front so I can have a go with garmins virb edit.

Headwind/downhill out is THE BEST!

That’s the usual ride out to Oulton/Delamere from mine. Then uphill, tailwind way back.

Silly boy :see_no_evil::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I can’t be bothered faffing with mine, once it’s fixed, it’s fixed.

Oh, and good luck to y’all today!
It’s still utterly pissing it down here…

I can confirm @Adam is real! Good to meet you fella!

Second TT of the season. Really enjoyed the course. Roads that I know very well but the first time I’ve strung these ones together. Think I had a low 40 so well in the lower end of MOP. Managed to hold off my minute man but not my 3 or 4 minute rider. :no_good_man:t2: Managed to sort out my aero head helmet so I could actually see where I was going. 254w NP, so a bit down but pretty happy. Sun was out too!! :grinning:

But how do you know I’m real?

I can confirm that you are real, too!

That’s exactly what someone who isn’t real would say. And nobody had confirmed for you @wheezy

I saw him on 1st June 2008 at Beaulieu Middle Distance, so I know he’s real :+1:t3:

This is true. @Poet holds the distinction of the first tritalker I ever met in real life. Thankfully didn’t put me off. :wink:

Cheers :+1:t3:

Bloody hell, that was so long ago!

Hywel took that race by seconds, loads of now-Kona qualifiers hanging around the 4:30 mark, too.

We went back to the New Forest on leisure holidays after that race, bloody lovely place I’d never have visited without triathlon :+1:t3:

Great to finally meet you @wheezy - top bloke! You were just leaving just after I rolled into the car park.

I think I gave a good account of myself. The first 5 miles headed south on the A24 were horrid into the headwind. Felt like I was moving so slowly. Quite pleased I removed current speed from my Wahoo screen. Just focussed on 3 second watts and told myself to keep pushing. NP for this section was something silly like 360. Glad to get off that road and give my elbows and shoulders some respite. The run back to the finish was a mixture of everything. Short climbs, drags quick descents, rough/silky smooth roads. The final corner then run up to the finish was horrible. Long bloody drag that felt like it would never end.

328 avg and 344 NP for 37.15

Training peaks telling me my ftp is now 325 now too!

Nice FTP and a really good aero position there :+1:

Up a place for the DQ! I guess that’s one advantage of the more road bike TT’ers, more people DQ’d for invisible aerobars!
