Where are the results @JibberJim ?
Looks good there - but I’m wondering about the rear pouch?
Self-supported and have to get home no matter what?
Not out yet I believe, just a grapevine on the DQ’
When it’s your own club promoting, you’d’ve hoped you could get a lift!
Yeah @Poet I’ve taken some shit for that pouch today I’ve just been far too lazy to take it off
I had to do the course take down!
So…you’ll slam your chode, but not take off a pouch
Although, I’m not taking off my downtube aero bottle even though I know it’s costing me ~3s over a 10TT
Nice work, good to see an old mate (2 x Kona Q and now cyclist) Paul Burton up there.
We started out triathloning at the same time, through to IM Frankfurt 2010, but his trajectory went upwards far quicker than mine thereafter…
He’s an absolute animal
2nd run on local 10 mile TT yesterday. 2 mins quicker compared. Wind had done a 180 and was more helpful. I was 2W done on average power. That was a much bigger gain compared to other riders who were closer to 1 min faster. I was concentrating on holding position more so perhaps that helped as well.
Wondering about buying a TT lid (currently using Bontrager Ballista) maybe a Carnac Kronus for Southport on Sunday I’ve been waiting to get a bike fit before I cut the stem (Venge). Looking at my current position, my head is quite high so unsure if a TT lid will be detrimental. Looks like the Kronus is pretty forgiving though so might give it a go.
First club 10 miler of the year tonight, the rain stopped just before first man off so it was a small field due to the mahoosive puddles.
Plenty of amazing rainbows and a 21:32 for the 10. A PB for me and a club senior record. The junior record is 30s quicker but he is a pro on the Sunweb team.
I thought I was going to be trashed after yesterday’s duathlon but it was magic and at one stage I thought my di2 had failed as I kept pressing the buttons and the there was no gear change. I glanced down and I was already in the 53/11 and it was feeing good.
I should quite now whilst on a high and avoid any disappointments
You’re in great form, hope it lasts
Thanks @jeffb that’s what I am afraid of. After training all winter for what would have been the National Duathlon champs a few weeks ago I think that I am now on the downwards trajectory
Cracking ride
Comfortable margin of victory there too
Really good ride @leahnp
I was fortunate the biggest challenge who is a complete powerhouse, DNF’d with a gaping hole in a new Corsa Speed G that no amount of sealant could fix.
Yeah - why you’d buy those tyres for anything other than silky smooth roads is beyond me
I got a pair and the sidewalls are SOOO thin.
I’m a bit scared to put them on
Vittoria Corsa Walk back to HQ’s…
I joked just before the start had he packed cleat covers for the walk back. I was feeling a tad guilty as I rode past him as he was carrying his bike.
I have actually got round to entering a TT for this year on the 23rd May, a 25 on our rolling club course BS13A. PB is a not overly impressive 1:03:58 so hopefully I can lower that down a bit!
Now that races are starting we need to factor in tapering and recovery, even if it’s only a couple of days each side that can add up to 5 days. So the consistency some people have had for about a year could start to fluctuate.
There’s a few people I know of that have started racing again with great performances and PB’s because of all the training and probably lack of racing.
Although if you aren’t racing regularly you can get back to the consistency again?
