That’s pretty much what the studio expert (former GB medalist, didn’t catch her name) said - she reckoned that the German was too tense and was making mistakes that translated through to the horse.
She’s ok. She’s fairly solid - bats the conversation around well don’t you think…
I mean it can’t be that easy - bring it back round to this fella

I think she’s alright, just needs to learn to let others finish what they’re saying.
She should ask MJ if he’s ever competed in the pole vault
I don’t really have any criticism of the in-studio commentary other than that it seems very tame, compared to what I think of as normal British tv. Especially given how much corruption and controversy there is in athletics and the Olympics in general I suppose.
I’m not saying they should be slagging off the whole thing, just that it’s so tame it’s like they’re afraid of rocking the boat in case GB gets punished.
No different to any other country. Nobody will overly criticise, not if they want their press accreditation renewed.
These are more the studio experts. I really like Denise Lewis and a couple of others, they seem to be less up their own arses compared to some football pundits.
Someone mentioned Cram above, he’s really good as well.
So who do you think they should be slagging off then
Which corruption and controversy in athletics should they be pointing out?
It’s a persuasive argument to remain - I’ll give you that!
Well I said that I don’t think they should be slagging off…I just think it’s all a bit tame, don’t you agree?
Not sure what they could be doing but maybe add someone with more controversial opinions to the panels?
more controversial opinions to the panels?
Ah… throw a cat amongst the pidgeons - how about a transgender athlete
… throw @Poet into the BBC studio and he can tell Chris Hoy to F off back to where he came from
Roy Keene ![]()
If Roy Keane was doing punditry in my back garden I wouldn’t open the curtains to watch.
That guy off good morning that got sacked/quit. To do with the royal faff.
Roy Keane is so keen on his own opinion, that he could disagree with himself if he was in the mood……
No debating he is controversial though
Most British Olympians are far from controversial unfortunately, far to squeaky clean in public. Maybe we need Cav for the velodrome in Paris.
Vicky Pendleton’s a bit off the wall
A bit
Roy Keane always looks like someone snatched his favourite biscuits from his rider
