Trail & Ultra Running Thread

I had a quick look today at mine , even doubled check my HK100 time , just in case I misread it  but alas nothing for me this time . To console myself I am just in the processes of entering the The Coastal Challenge in Costa Rica in Feb next year . Dont usually do multi day races but the adventure option looks doable .

Good luck hope 2022 is your year

Now THAT is my number one bucket list race. I love Costa Rica

Tried to enter the race a couple of years ago , but then the pandemic hit .
But love Costa Rica after cycling through there a few years ago . I’ve entered the Adventure category rather than the expedition, but still think it will be hard

Wow that sounds brilliant. We’ll have to have 2022 ultra picture competition. You with Costa Rica and me Thames Path 100. :joy:

Does Costa Rica get you a qualifying race for 2023 or have you entered another qualifier

Looked at a jungle ultra but wasn’t sure about stingy bitey things :flushed:

@tunster its not a qualifier but I am entered into TP100 . I also quite fancy the Javelina Jundred (I’m not desperate to get abroad next year honest!).

@FatPom I’ll see you at TP100 too

Thanks for sharing that was lovely . Her partner Justin Grunwald has been through some tragedy losing his wife to a rare cancer at the age of 32 , so its lovely to see him have some happiness back in his life .

You going for it?

If I had managed to turn up and complete in 2019 would have been the Grand Slam for me but work was a nightmare for a couple of months so couldn’t even bring myself to drag myself to the start line.

If you do it, book yourself a room for Sunday night and dinner at the Miller of Mansfield - quality small hotel and top grub (chef used to work with Heston at the Fat Duck).

Well, like all the others, just going to enter and see how it pans out :crossed_fingers:t2:

Good tip on the hotel, thanks.

It’s about 50 yards from the base camp so if Mrs FP and LO coming as well it’s super handy

Kevin Sinfield starting a 101 mile run from Leicester to Leeds this morning in aid of MND.
Interestingly he’s doing it in a backyard ultra style, 7km each hour with aim to complete in 24 hours.
BBC giving it a lot of coverage on Breakfast TV (they’ve been following Rob Burrow’s story for a while), not sure if there’s any ongoing coverage or tracking, I’ll keep my eye out.

I think this tracking should work
