7.5 miles to go

1 mile to go, they’re covering it on BBC Breakfast. He looked pretty broken at the end of the last leg. Couldn’t speak to the reporter and had to be pretty much lifted into the motorhome.

I must be going soft in my old age, I was welling up watching the Eddie Kid tribute last week and now watching Rob Burrow see his daughter cross the line with Kevin at the end of the 101 miles.

Absolutely brilliant watching that this morning.

He picked the coldest of days and nights to do it :snowflake:

Ali Brownlee jogging a section with him, too.

Just a brilliant story this one :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

7kmh doesn’t sound quick, but just do that 24 times over :exploding_head:

That’s the tricky bit. Going past your camp every hour, knowing you can just quit. Getting demotivated at night.

That was a great effort by Kevin. :trophy:

Yeah, I get that the backyard proper is mentally hard due to that.

Kev just broke it up into 7km sections, to cope, I guess.

He ran from Leicester to Leeds.
That’s a massive distance on the M1/A1(M)
So running it is just :exploding_head:

Yeah I’ve never done a proper Back Yard. (would like to). Endure 24 is the closest I have to compare.

I can’t post links, but Salomon running have a new short film out about Kilian Jornet running a vertical km.

Kilian Jornet running in his natural habitat is always great to watch!

For anyone who struggles with the search function in YouTube…

(Odd that you can’t post links? I wonder if there’s some kind of requirement to have been a member for x days, or made y posts :man_shrugging:)

it’s a pity there’s no decent video of him doing the Mt Blanc ascent/descent in less than 5 hrs back in 2013 - a record that still stands

Fascinating to see him in bits at the end of that run and looking a bit less like superman and looking a bit more like me (albeit I look like that after running up the stairs at work)

Ultra Trail Cape Town is taking place tomorrow. Some big names there, although I kind of feel they didn’t get the memo to leave the country. Daniela Ryf, Jan Frodeno etc are in Cape Town too at the moment and they’ve just posted they’re leaving immediately. Maybe America isn’t stopping/limiting flights from South Africa.

Anyway, the event is being streamed on YT

Looks like an easy win for Walmsley. Great time 9:47:20. Last time someone went below 10hrs was Prodigal Kumalo with 09:51:00 hrs in 2017.

Courtney smashing it as always. Don’t know how she does it, her race calendar is so full. 8th place with 11:20:04.

4 women in the top 20 !

Had anyone tried the Bridgedale socks? Sister is asking me for Xmas ideas. The Hilly Ultra Mono is my go to but happy to try others

I’ve got two pairs that I bought, I dunno, must be ten years ago and they’re still my go to for winter cycling. They’re great socks.

Bridgedale are my go to hiking socks, comfy and last well. I haven’t tried their running socks.
