It’s really not the UK’s hardest 100 either. Nowhere near! :joy:

Which one is?

Don’t know which is the toughest but of ones I know…

  • Justin’s North Coast 100 is definitely harder.
  • The Brecon Beacons one I dnf’d at a couple of years back was tougher.
  • There’s one up in Snowdonia, can’t remember which company, but that has very and climbs.
  • Spine challenger I would say looks a fair bit harder.
  • Don’t know what the Lakes ones are like.

I think the time of year makes Arc pretty tough but I don’t doubt what you’re saying. Two winter nights though, uggh!

I run with a guy that has done Lakeland100 and the Dragon’s Back and he says LL was much tougher (he also said DB is a massive rip off and he did it about 6 or 7 years ago!)

Interesting what you say about Justin’s race. I wonder how tough the first section is from the start to Barnstaple? Do you think if I could finish the NC110km this year I’d be in good stead for Arc?

Don’t get me wrong it’s a a decent race. But it’s nowhere near the toughest, just because it’s in winter. It’s Cornwall, and much more mild than the rest if the country.

The Snowdonia one is UTS. That’s a tough looking one that is on my radar.

Yeah, the NC100 is tougher for sure. But more daylight, but they had awful weather a couple of years back. It’s very hilly in that first section. The overall elevation is pretty high, especially when you think that about 15 miles are flat as a pancake around the estuary, so the climbing is all compressed.

I think a decent NC100k would be a good starter for the Arc for sure. Arc is still long. 100 milers take their toll in a different way.

haha weird you mention UTS, as I hadn’t heard of it until fairly recently and look who popped up  (50km though)

Not too sure where to put this, but anyway. Killian Jornet has partnered with Camper to launch a new sports brand:

Interesting, never heard of Camper. Bold move to cut the Salomon apron strings!

Is it NNormal for Not Normal? Because he isnt normal, in a good and impressive way.

I’ve never seen running shoes from them either. :woman_shrugging:

Partly that, partly for people to ‘not do normal shit’ in them and also a really bad play on the two places these are made - NORway MALlorca.

Bit of a crap name really.

He should have gone with the first part of his name and his partner’s. Then it would be ‘KILLEM’

I’ve been approved to do the 3 peaks race as I’ve got qualifying races now :grimacing:

It’s 12 days after Boston marathon and is more just for the experience.

Got until Wednesday to decide.

What’s there to decide?

Embrace it.

The DOMS from Sunday’s race is still fresh in my mind :joy:

And I’ll struggle to get much fell training beforehand.

But yeah :sunglasses:

Is that the one with the mad dash between peaks in the car over 24hrs?

I suspect it’s the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

No, the fell race in Yorkshire, Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent.

I did the cyclocross version about 10 years ago, I’m still traumatised :joy:

I’ve entered this year - first time for me! Similar to you no pressure just for the experience, that is until I peg it off the line :see_no_evil:

Oh I see you’re still deciding? Go for it!
