XC race tomorrow. Mostly on grass but potentially some tarmac so no spikes, what shoes would you go for? I normally use mudclaws, but thinking vj ultra or Inov8 xtalons

Trail but depends on what time of day the race is - if it’s early and the ground is frozen might get away with road - still think I would go with trails

Isn’t the definition of XC that you can wear spikes, otherwise it’s just an off road race?

Potentially! There are a few local XC that include some paths so some people say they are not XC :man_shrugging:

My mate ‘won’ the M60 there - 208k which is pretty good for 60- IMHO. However due to an ‘admin error’ that he did not pay an extra 179USD to be enter the ‘masters’ competition it was given to someone who ran 148k. Absolute money grab from the orgainisers, given 80% are probably masters runners anyway why should you pay more to race in an age category

The does seem really strange

I went with mudclaws for the XC/trail race as it snowed over night, a couple of sketchy rocky/icy descents but survived!
