First picture, black and orange helmet? I don’t know who he is, but he’s wearing the most expensive helmet amongst them - so just presumed that this guy is the guide

Not sure, just saw the CSW shirts and joined the dots.

:joy: Yep, in one! He’s not a ‘guide’, he’s one of my best mates. But yeah, he’s the guide. He’s the ML trained instructor, guide etc. So all the gear belongs to him, including his own helmet that weighs about 6g! It’s well nice!

Was a bloody great day on the ridge. Our guide is a bloody legend. But he’s gone home and 5 of us still on the beers. So he’s weak AF! :joy: :joy: :joy:

That’s a shame

Jan was due to do it this year but due to illness had to pull out. She and a couple of friends entered for next year. No consolation now but the race usually sells out in less than 10 mins :frowning:

That looks like a great day out - some tough bits to that Klettersteig in the middle :+1:

I have no idea what that is! :joy:

This was graded as k1/2 at the bottom and k4 up higher if that means anything to you? It got a bit pumpy on some of the small overhanging sections, and some of the staples were a good old stretch. But it was amazing fun.

That ladder facing out from the rock was interesting!

Klettersteig is Via Ferrata in German. I just looked at the topo for the route and the top section looked a bit exposed and pumpy in parts - very nice.

Is that the 3/4 day hike route Anna? I think I saw a YT film about some guys that did it in 3 days. I’ll have a dig around.

It’s the Redovan 1 & 2 Via Ferrata, probably took @gingerbongo and his mates about 4hrs, maybe quicker if they ran the descent.

oh ok. I have no idea what I’m thinking of

I don’t either , but if you find the yt film, post it anyway :grinning:

I can’t remember exactly. Something like that I’d say. We strolled off the peak, but stopped for lunch at the top. And there were 8 of us, so that creates lots of natural pinch points at the bridges etc as well as waiting for the slower guys to catch up a bit.

It was the Alta Via, in Italy, so not even close :man_facepalming:

I really like a lot of the Mediocre Amateur stuff, his level of fitness and just getting out into the mountains and doing stuff is something I would love to achieve.

Have you watched the TMB ones? First night he doesn’t have anywhere booked to stay so just ends up going to Courmayeur… as you do!

It’s not a channel to watch if you have a strong aversion to seeing people puke… he does seem to struggle with over heating.

I like his stuff as well. Haven’t see the TMB, will take a look. :+1:
