My mate from Glastonbury has just txt me. He has been offered a waitlist place for Arc50. He’s gone for a run to think about it.
I told him to just do it, he’s way faster than me, he’ll be fine.

That’s all it will be anyway, I’ll have to bite my lip at the start if I go.
There is about a 5K loop at the start so any problems and there’s a bailout, after that there’s very little short of turning back on yourself.

in the dark, unsupported, no GPS!
My mate is in for the Arc 50. He’ll crush it for sure. If by some miracle I don’t get timed out by Lands End, he’ll overtake me around Zennor.

That is a very impressive time under normal conditions never mind without daylight, support and gps plus I bet there are some really muddy bits out there

OK in a way. Part of me thinks I shouldn’t be there and part of me thinks just treat like an adventure and see how far I get with no pressure.

It was but I skipped it, I knew the last 8K would be bad and I’m creaking as it is.
