100% - get them in now - chances of entry so small in the first years
Sadly not any more as they changed the rules
I know, I was just joking. pity though, I could have lobbed an Aussie entry in
Knowing my luck, i’ll get in first time & need to have a very difficult conversation with the wife!
If you get in with such long odds you will just have to tell her that it’s fate calling
15 men running at the front of the race - all of them through first aid station under course record pace
There’s going to be some spectacular explosions!
It’s been amazing seeing from the other side . Very warm out here . Debbie finished in 27:15 . Just had her photo with Kilian. Comparing race stories .
A great result for Debbie albeit worrying on timing for mere mortals given how good she is
I definitely need to make some changes to stand a chance if I get in again.
Just listened to a podcast on Trail and Error about this race. They had the RD on. It was a before and after podcast.
It sounds bloody hard. I’m not sure I heard correctly because I was in the car but I thought he said the qualifier is 100km in 11hrs or under!
Think you’ve probably misheard that FP. When my friend did it - and he’s certainly capable of a sub 11 100, he said there were a right old mix of people.
I think they are doing a Silly 110 next year so it may have been for that.
Probably one for tunster or maybe pookey, I know one of you has raced in Italy. Did you just use one of the internet sports certificate things and upload the specific one? Or manage to actually blag your doctor?
The only ultra event I have done in Italy is the Chianti race by UTMB
That was a self certifying process
What event are you doing?
That’s strange, was considering one in November and it’s suggesting a template that looks a bit like the one I submitted for CCC, but it says it needs doctors approval, could use the same company again but can’t remember if they had a standard form or you could provide one.
But it’s a bit of a ballache getting there as well.
Ta
I have a mate that I did UTMB events back when they needed a Dr’s note. Fortunately he was a GP but retired a couple of years ago - around about the time that UTMB changed their process.
To be fair to UTMb the new process is really easy
I’ve not raced in Italy, but needed one for Costa Rica , you can get your own GP to sign it but they may charge . I googled sports medical certificate and filled one in online think it cost me £60 or similar.
Needing a Drs note does seem to be a European thing. I remember we had to get them for TCR.
