He’s finished. 9:31:39, well under 10hrs! ![]()
One for you @gingerbongo , I was intrigued!
I’ve had this idea for a while of section hiking the Paddy Buckley.
I did Capel Curig to Blaenau Ffestiniog today, and it was brutal. Much harder than I expected.
Tomorrow I need to get back to Capel Curig, there was a plan to do the next section to Beddgelert and then get buses/hitch.
Thing is, I’m ruined. I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it, never mind be in a fit state to drive home. I’m completely ruined. Might be looking for a taxi.
Think @gingerbongo ’s mate does guided PB rounds?
So I’ve woken up feeling not too bad.
The thing I need to decide on is the loop at the start of today’s route; it is about 4km in and to do it adds 4/5km. I’ll make a decision when I get to the turn off, but my inclination is not to. Thinking about how rooted I was at the end of yesterday, and with a 5+ hour drive home, it might be wise to take the easy way.
Good luck mate
Hey Fruity, care to explain yourself? ![]()
I did the shorter version over to Beddgelert, my legs were trashed by the end of it, and my feet are still sore.
Getting off Cnicht was a bit spicy, at one point there were two options and I went down the north side of the ridge… it went from being fine to being “errr, this is would be fun to go up but down is more commiting than I expected” and I should have turned around. But each individual move was easy enough, and I could see where others had gone (I guess mostly ascending)
It’s far from the first time I’ve thought this, but I should really get better at turning back when things don’t look right.
Sorry, missed this. But yes he does go up there once or twice a year to do guided, multi-day rounds if you were interested @The_Iain
I’m not on ‘the Gram’ but my mate tells me that big changes happening for next year’s NC series. Sat/Sun races and indoor venues for all aid stations?
Yeah new date - moving to Nov from Oct. And yep, he’s secured some new locations for the CP’s.
Can’t remember what dates were landed on. We were having lots of discussions on Fri vs Sat starts etc. I lost track of the final decision amidst the incessant teasing and tendency to go off topic! ![]()
I thinks it’s A100 today?
Yep, I’m occasionally dot watching. My neighbour and fellow Hatchling, Ash Hogg has made the Swyncombe turn on leg 2 and heading back to Goring.
nuts - 173miles in 24 hrs
Incredible running
Bloody hell!
Was watching the stream for the last 30 mins - absolutely nuts but what an achievement . The ladies GB team won gold too.
The Backyard ultra world champs is currently ongoing, 44 yards complete and 52/72 starters are still in the race
To quote John Stocker ‘the race really starts on Day 3’ ![]()
I see Sarah Perry is 2nd female - she has a lot of experience fingers crossed for her .
We’re now past the 3 day / 300 mile point and still 24 runners in the race, including Sarah Perry who has already smashed her own British record
