You forgot Merthyr. You know Chewin’ the Fat & Trainspotting isn’t what most of Scotland is like right?
Yes, Fatpom and Iwaters, they are stretching the limits around the 5K number, just because the actual number per race might be below that the town and routes are obviously going to rammed.
@tunster I’m with you, but I suspect postponement does mean until possibly October, I don’t think they’ll roll entries into next year, they’d either refund or partial refund.
My plan was to get another 6pts and guarantee my entry for 2022 but I wonder if they’ll bin that assurance now ?
Possibly, especially with that loyalty thing they were going to introduce if you do one of their other races.
Yeah like I said before, I can see that being ‘the model’ moving forward. They’ve been learning from Messick and pals.
should have been the Thames Path 100 today
I should currently somewhere around Sanquhar on the Ultra Scotland 100
Spent a pleasant 30mins watching this again. I’d forgotten what a great film this is.
Big fan of Billy Yang films
First time back in the hills today given partial lockdown release - 2hrs 50 on the West Pennine Moors - felt soooo good. More ascent and descent today than for the last 2 months.
Post turbo, I’ve been sat on the sofa watching Arc of Attrition videos. It ‘feels’ like I’m exercising.
I tentatively started Mark Cockbain’s May challenge, knowing it was kind of okay until middle of the month and then borderline suicide thereafter.
Basically minimum distance per day is same as the day of the month, single run not cumulative. Up until today has been the warm up, evidence is required from now
Given last week just tipped over 100miles and there are 13days still to go we’re getting to the crunch point. I was back at work the last two weeks and always said hmm 18th onward is 3hrs+ per day and I joked that relies on getting furloughed again… which I am… so one less excuse.
Out mid afternoon for 18miles then, and early for 19 tomorrow. So far going back to back with at least 24hrs recovery has worked well enough but may well be winging it after that. Yesterday was the first time average pace was slower than 10/mile for various reasons of being crap with early starts & talking to ponies, and that was about my threshold for reconsidering the strategy.
Anyway here’s my fearsome Strava log for the month…
If nothing else, however far I get, I should be in good stead if any races happen, the only one entered/planned not cancelled was moved to 1st August I think.
Hope we’re all running well and not pining for hills too much.
I’ve been getting quite a bit of ascent in on my Bergen runs (usually 500m+) plus I’m now adding in a hilly ‘sports kit’ run too, and just going to do one flatter run on the road. I wonder if the Fan Dance will even take place tbh
fair play Ed - that is some going
keep us posted on progress!
This is something my friends and i have often talked about, but nobody has been silly enough to try it (yet). I guess you’ve seized the opportunity there @ed_m with more time on your hands than normal. I thought your Strava feed was getting pretty tasty, now i know why!!
Good luck with it, i’ll be following with interest!!
I noticed you’ve taken the ‘kms’ option?
no, no. I think he’s doing miles. Looks to be 16km on day 10.
I did this back in January 2010 as the km version, was toying with doing it again in August as the last three days are the bank holiday weekend, we shall see
Ah yes, I think you’re right. Hardcore!
