yea - cos we were looking at the kms one! and that put us off!!!
Yeah sorry ⦠my strava is all in km⦠my routes are planned in km⦠my watch reads in miles ?.. !
I have a few back out plans if necessary, one of them is dropping back to km if iām too broken but I cant think more than a few days ahead just now.
18 is done (https://www.strava.com/activities/3471961052) put a bit more road in and avoided some annoyingly unrunnable trails that and being an afternoon run meant I could keep it closer to 9:30/mile altho got a bit wobbly for the last couple.
route for 19 planned for the morning⦠YAWN I need food & a nap !
One more day ticked⦠kept under the 10/mile again

Bit grindy for the last couple of miles again but luckily that started a mile further on this time!
Change of pattern with a 20 tomorrow morning rather than afternoon. Plenty of niggles coming & going but overall in okay nick.
keep it going champ.
55% refund plus⦠runners will benefit from having a place reserved for them in the same race in either 2021, 2022 or 2023. Iām still harbouring ambitions to race there, however deferrals will mean greater competition for even fewer places
Difficult to see what else they could have done other than to cancel - 55% refund not so bad in the grand scheme of things - so I will be running in 2021 then.
You are quite right Krispy that it will make getting a place in the next 3 years even more difficult
As per the other threads I think Iām going to try and wait until 22.
In theory I still have an event postponed until 1st August but guess theyāre very much on a watching brief there⦠big events that rely on an international field seem likely to be up in the air for a long while yet.
(Cycling wise even LEL 2021 is likely to be unfeasible or something very different if it canāt pull the overseas crowd⦠and then thereās the matter of training & events in training)
Oh yeah⦠Day 20 done (https://www.strava.com/activities/3481495006).
great work Ed - keep at it
Just realised my 1st August event is in Wales⦠hmmm that could make it even less likely the way theyāre going !
Yesterday was a fair bit over, nice route so did the same with a touch extra on the end to knock it over 21 ⦠somehow 15sec/mile faster than yesterday. Getting to the stage where I donāt look at my watch or care about pace for at least the first hour and then see whatās what. Ice cream stop getting increasingly tempting. Since Iām the only source of entertainment here⦠Day 22⦠tick.
Made that a bit hard for myself going faster again and having a real crawl through the last couple of miles.
17miles today was the halfway point for the month in terms of mileage⦠eeepā¦. you let that sink in cos I donāt want to

Yeah, the Fan Dance could well be put back to September I reckon (currently the first two weekends in July). But Iām merely guessing.
yeah, thatās not appealing!
Fantastic going Ed - you are going to be either in great shape by the end of the month or totally f@@ked
or both!
Having just soaked my feet & ankles in cold water I think I know which !
Change of pace today as I was just running myself into the ground for no good reason (previous 3 runs were progressively quicker average pace), although I kind of made the plan up as I went.
Switch to run/walk, walk 2 or 3mins at the start of each 40min lap which worked quite well as I could watch the lap pace drop to where I wanted it before the next walk break.
Whilst I was trying not to care about time my 10/mile basic target would have been 3hrs50 (yesterday was 9:15/mile average!) with the planned walk run & stop 4hrs seemed a sensible target which I worked out on the fly average pace still needed to come below 10:30/mile.
Planned to get 16-17miles in to farm shop to treat myself to a coffee, walk with it & crack on knowing its 6miles from home.
All went pretty well and 23miles only came 3mins30 later than above soft target⦠and another 3mins over being overdistance.
Oh swapped to some ancient green silence as the zero drop are troubling both my achilles a little.
Hoping to be suitably relaxed again tomorrow then al downhill from there

7miles or so social distanced & coffee in middle

Apparently itās a bank holiday tomorrow ?
shit! you are smashing it
keep at it!
Not really firing on all cylinders today but some virgin trails (some better than others!), ace weather and an enjoyable socially distanced queue in the co-op next to the beer fridge !

Marathon day tomorrow I guess.
