Bloody hell, what a nightmare for you mate. Can you salvage a holiday out of the situation?

Yes but sounds like it’s going to be wet

I’d go for the sleep in/gym/bar option

Sorry to hear that dude. Hope you can make the most of the trip and just get smashed instead!

Nightmare, tough luck that, wonder if you’ll be covered but better to be safe than fall off the volcano!

@leahnp is in Lanza as well!

That sucks - gutting.

Hope you can still enjoy some excellent trail runs though. Have you ever been to Los Gigantes and Masca?

Seems to be his style. Try some of the Parkrun videos on his channel - extra points for getting to the end

Sorry to see that. I see ā€˜no refunds’ and you’re all deferred to 2027 (something which probably wouldn’t fly under UK law). Do you know how what volume of cash has been taken across the weekend’s events?

I can’t watch the Parkrun ones, they are annoying. I have watched a few others in the past and even been interviewed by him twice.

I started to go off him when he pissed and moaned about missing the Ben Nevis cut off (twice) and he also seems to take umbridge at any other YTer turning up to a race that he’s at.

He was also becoming a complete ā€˜you don’t need gels’ ranty twat. Then he got some sponsorship ££ from Rebel and guess what, gels are ok again (but only those ones, apparently! )

I will say, every time I’ve spoken with him off camera, he’s been a nice enough chap but I haven’t spoken with him in a few years now.

If everyone is deferred until next year I’m guessing there’ll be no new entries so looks like it’s off my todo list for 2027!

Half wondered if they might follow what they did in 2020 when they let people defer over the next few years?

First time in Tenerife so will have to do some exploring

I doesn’t feel too bad here in Puerto de La Cruz - it will be very different at the top of Teide which is vertically 3.5km above

Places might come up from successful chargebacks, depending on applicable contract law. Worth keeping an eye open.

Seems clear that they don’t have event cancellation insurance, so personally I’d not be enthusiastic about the risk anyway.

Fair enough - Teide summit

Hello! what’s all this then?

Interesting- wasn’t James supposed to be running in the now cancelled event?
