You really aren’t selling that to me

Brilliant endurance and gritting your teeth though!

Great effort and a great race report, Chapeau!

@doug , can’t remember if you mentioned this before but what was the navigation like?
Fully signed, self-nav or ‘pick your own line’ kind of thing?

Self nav, a lot of it was on waymarked trails such as Offa’s Dyke, Beacon Way, Cambrian Way, Wales Coast Path. However some of the waymarks were few and far between, and the Cambrian Way across the bogs from Storey Arms might as well have been unmarked. I made quite a few nav errors.

Brilliant report; shame I can’t give it two likes

As already said, Epic!!!

Time for a little rest maybe?

How are you feet now after a few days off?

Getting better, but still sore. I can now waddle a bit, managed a short walk around the local park. Legs feel surprisingly good, not sore or stiff, just a little tried.
I have an appointment on Monday to replace the dressing.

Great report @doug - hope the feet feel better soon.

Inspired by @doug 's superhuman effort, I have been thinking again about trying to run home from London to the SW.

It’s the stuff of madness and yet has been on my mind for a few years. It’s about 250km, which is a good 200km further than I have ever run before, so there’s the first problem.

There are various people I should be able to visit and crash with in central London, Walton on Thames, Winchester and perhaps Salisbury. This seems like it kind of lends itself to a 4 day adventure covering 60-80km each day.

Pretty sure I can do day 1.

After that who knows? Might be on the train with tail between legs.

But I have a week’s holiday in June when Mrs is working, so am weighing up whether to give it a bash & will post here if so.

PS am writing this from the Paddington train which takes 1 hour and 40 minutes… the sensible way to do it

Probably will end up finding an excuse not to :see_no_evil_monkey:

If you are thinking off road…

Thames Path from Richmond to Goring.

Goring to Avebury on the Ridgeway

Bit stuck after that

My mate Craig is running the Butcombe 50 miler today, prep for SDW100. He’s number 36, trucking on nicely.

5 miles to go for Craig, they started at 8.00am and he wanted sub 12hr, so going to do that by the looks of it. :+1:t2:

Either the most sophisticated attempt at phishing I have seen yet or this mornings hill reps by the garden centre somehow lasted over 17 hrs and transported me to France without me noticing (in which case I am feeling pretty fresh considering)

Haven’t clicked the link but did go to the website to see the results - not on the website yet

Just checked the website

If I had been a 17 hr finisher that would have been impressive as the race only started 13 hrs ago

Mrs T also got a finisher email

We have realised that the quoted results are the times we recorded for UTMB Chianti just over 2 years ago

Very strange

I got a similar email from Ironman a few years ago for a race I didn’t do :joy:
