Or find a replacement race this summer!

Ooh that’s no good. I wonder whether SDW100 will happen? It’s June 12th.

Barkley marathons has just started, Twitter is the best place to check for updates

I thought i saw a post from Pavel Paloncy saying he was out there. I’ll take a look.

Yeah Pavel is there. Courtney Dauwalter is another big name. No idea who else is running!

You should ask @kemptonslim for his opinions on the Barkley’s  A few good doc’s on the tubes , one by a guy called Gary Robbins (iirc) was really good. Read a few books on it, not my cup of tea of an event to take part in but no disputing the challenge and interesting the mindset and type of people that do take part.

Another name to watch out for is Maggie Guterl. She won the US version of the Backyard Ultra.

Of course it all comes down to the ability to navigate

There’s Ginger Runner film about Gary Robbins.

that’s the first one I watched, There are a few other shorter things worth watching also. His training was mental, not sure I could be bothered with regular hill running through the night

3 time finisher Jared Campbell is there too

Did I read somewhere that Lucy Gossage has applied to do it next year?

Looks like the Barkley course is going to win again this year. Only two runners made it onto lap 3 (of 5) and they are going to be hard pushed to finish lap 3 within the cut off to complete a ā€œfun runā€.

Its a shame that the ladies didn’t get to do a third loop, I think that they missed the cut off by just 12 mins. I really hope they come back next year

Anyone else doing the 50 or 100 in Scotland?

I’m doing the 50, you must have done a ā€˜marathon’ before or similar. I did the Haworth Hobble over 13 years ago.

All being well event on May 1st.

Nice one thanks. Just had a look , I cant remember how many tickets I have … to be fair though - I’ll still do qualifiers as its incentive to keep fit now I have turned 50…

I see they have also given the opportunity to defer to anyone that’s not US based due to the pandemic. Which makes a lot of sense since no one can really travel at the moment…
