Trail vests as MTB hydro

I have a Salomon S-Lab 5 vest (soft flask) and an OMM Ultra 20 backpack for winter running and long MTB rides.

I’m looking for a light hydro/food set up for my upcoming mtb XC 6hr multi loop race. Is there any reason I couldn’t buy a 1.5ltr Salomon bladder and use the vest on the mtb.

Anyone tried that?
