Training - What Training?!

Sorry to hear that, it does suck.

I’ve had to take one of my migraine sprays for 4 nights in a row this week. They wipe me out during the day a bit when I take one. About every 2-3mths I’ll get a week where it’s just night after night.

Hopefully they will stop now as I have a big/busy weekend ahead.

8Km x 5 treadmill, doubled my tempo running to 2Km and threw in 8 x 500 metre intervals to one of the runs. With my parkrun, that’s 48Km for the week. Pleased with this steady progression.

Yesterday was 12km at 4:44s - 146 HR, really itching to get going with some speed now, 1 hour of functional fitness then 20km at 150w on the bike.

This morning was 64km on the spin bike at about 170w, then paused deadlifts some other accessory work, including 4kg weighted chin ups and pistol squats. My quads are now in bits :sob:

Get well soon @Poet!

7.2km lumpy run this morning. 91m elevation. 31 minutes.

Will get back into swimming tonight. Token 1.5-2km effort.

Bit of a rough run for me today. Head out the door with no plan, as usual, but straight away the legs and lungs weren’t feeling it. But just carried on regardless as they loosen up after a few kms sometimes. Went on the cycle path over to Exmouth, kms were ticking by so decided to ramp up the effort. Quickly decided to do a prog effort up to the 10km mark (so a 4km effort). Legs were just non-existent for the last 2kms. Vile.

Took a breather and then clipped on back home. Was seeing some unexpected pace for a really throttled down, low RPE effort. Cool. Started up the hill, again similar story. Then all of a sudden BAM. A good old fashioned bonk! Legs felt like they imploded and body had nothing to give. I was close to walking up the hill. Instead dug in, dialled it down a tad and plodded up the hill. Then told my weak body to STFU and got a wriggle on back down the hill to home.

So both the ‘session’ and the ‘warm down’ were crap. Numbers were ok, but the intrinsic measures were all rubbish! Not enjoyable at the time, but good to know that the session is in the legs now. Cos Friday night is wine night! Last episode of The Tribe as well.

Don’t you start!

3km of that was downhill. Admittedly 2km was (gentle) uphill and i didn’t push the descents; but the point was it felt frickin vile!

I was the same when I was young ( that’s actually true)

Now I’m happy to be above ground and not weeing myself at night so kph is down the list a touch.

Easy spin class ( av hr 143 )

Stretch and soak in the bubbles.

More importantly 50ms burpee broad jumps in about 3 mins, these really are disgusting, but they felt easier than the last time and I actually felt quite “ fluid”

The BIG test is how my back is in the morning, fingers crossed !!!

Had a Zwift planned…that’s a nope.

Can of Metric (Pint, Marble Brewery) on the go, rugby and route planning for tomorrow (yes, well aware I’m going to be ill for a week afterwards, but it’s going to be a nice day!)

Daddy daycare all weekend again so I got my long run in early doors, 1hr 30 9-1 - really liking these, that one minute off makes the whole thing seem so much easier - will jump on the turbo later once both boys are in bed

I’m sticking with it in the run up to Bolton. Anything an hour and up gets the treatment

Couldn’t get to parkrun today so hit the treadmill later in the morning. That’ll probably mean 6 treadmill runs for me this week.
