Training - What Training?!

8km treadmill on 0%. I was meant to be doing 4x1 @ 4.00 but I only managed 2x1 as I felt the back of my left quad going a bit tight. I backed off and did the remaining 5kms at 5.20.

I was also doing my second run in the Next% but I don’t think that’s related. My calves and quads haven’t felt quite right since all that sanding on the weekend.

I’m doing one run 0% the next at 1%… Repeat…

I can’t feel any difference at all…?!

You?

I tend to either do them at 0% for the whole run (recovery or speed) or select 2% average for the others. 2% average swings from a low of 1.5 to a high of 4.0.

I notice anything over about 1.8.

Hell Yeah, I’ve not tried trad yet. I’m shit enough at sport! Haha.

Interval day 2x1200 @4:26/km, 4x800 @4:17. Hard but not heavy-breathing-hard. Perhaps the treadmill effect.

Ran 75 miles last week, including 64 as part of Pilgrim Challenge.

This week was meant to be 2 days recovery then slowly build it back, but work has been mental so I have managed nothing in 4 days. I will tell you what though: quite enjoying not training for a wee bit.

Just managed 3*10 on the Wattbike, pretty much average 300W. Legs were struggling a bit but HR wasn’t far off 50M TT, similar to last week. The cold garage might be affecting things.

Could probably do with getting to the gym for some leg presses or squats.

Crappy week for me. Having the most stressful week at work in a very long time. It’s not only stolen my normal training slots, but also my energy and mojo. Hopefully just a blip, and I’ll be back to normal next week.

The impact of a week like that is quite staggering, no physical activity but absolutely nackered and often struggle to sleep.

2 x treadmill runs: 6k hard and 8k low intensity. Genuinely how people stay on it longer than 40 minutes is beyond me.

1 x swim: 1.5k

3 x indoor rowing (intervals and tempo) & s&c

Seem to perpetually have a niggly problem in both calves / Achilles. Feel like it’s pulled, only to settle down a couple of hours later and ghost out.

The first hour is the worst …

After that it’s all plain sailing…

Rowing intervals… I wish!

8km very easy treadmill. Mindful of yesterday’s tight quad. Started at 5.50 and worked my way very gradually down to 5.30.

Seems ok :crossed_fingers:

How are you not completely boiling after an hour?

After 30 minutes sweat is literally flying off, coating the treadmill rails (if that’s a thing) and floor.

Pacing. Fast intervals, I’m soaking in sweat pretty quick. Mara pace +30s I’m fine.

Just about managed my reps today, 5* 5 minutes just under 4/K pace, was a bit twisty and breezy. Cut the last one a little bit short as I just about ran out of path and I was suffering after last nights bike set.

Probably doing the parkrun tomorrow but nearer to MP, depending on how much Guinness I have tonight.

Doesn’t look Sundays outdoor ride will happen again with the impending storm.

That run was outside…!?

5 mile run done. Trying to keep heart rate a bit lower. Averaged 133 heart rate, but it meant my pace was 10.04😮

It’s seriously hilly where I live, but my pace used to be so much better, albeit at a higher average hr.
