Training - What Training?!

It did teach me to get my shit together.

It’s fair to say my natural bohemian approach to life, “rock up and what’s the worst that could happen?” is successful in many avenues, but not bike commuting, or triathlon training.

I used my trail shoes to do the workout, so not a complete fail.

I once spent to day at work in cycling shorts. TBF it was my manager’s fault, he dragged me into a meeting the minute I got through the door, and by the time it was over, didn’t seem much point in changing.

Back from a work trip. 30 minute spin class, fairly gentle.

Hopefully help the jet lag.

Decent week of training for me. 15h.

Includes 1h of strength work that I never normally do. 100 mile Zwift ride (4h30m, 210W) and a 15 mile run (2h20m, 9:20 min/mile)

Only downside was getting a blister on the end of my toe after my long run involved getting wet feet. Doesn’t seem too bad.

Also joined a gym with a pool so will start swimming again properly.

Usual steady 12 hours completed with 45 mins boxing bag into a 15 min t mill run at 10 kph!
Achilles / ankle still not right but can manage that with a hr of 122 ish.
Highlights include two hour bike, lots of strength ( I can feel the hate on here!) and an impossible circuit

Start my ten week programme tomorrow, pretty motivated but wish my niggle would FRO.

Delamere Half with Mrs T

Recce’d the route last week

10 mins faster today in muddy conditions - thankfully no rain until after we had finished

Mrs T faded badly in the last 5km but otherwise did great

I’m not wed to Training Peaks but I like to look in on it towards the end of a week & I’m normally above 10hrs & 500 points…at the moment I’m at 9:32 & 496 .

Trying to persuade the wifey to go for a wee walk tonight. She’d rather I went into the garage on the turbo .

I’ve managed, errrr, an 8km run.

This is the way. (apparently)

Rounded off the week with a 19K trail run around the moors from Chris’ ancestral home. Also managed to go AoT twice due to the greasy conditions and wrong trainers, most of both falls was padded by my fat arse so not much damage, although I did jar my upper left arm and a few cuts and grazes on my right hand where I managed to grab a sharp bush :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: hopefully no damage to my hamstring which has had a bit of a moan the last day or so, tightness I think.

7:30 for the week, cycling and running were within about 2 minutes of each other at ~3:15, and a few short swims.

Probably a bit more than planned after giving blood last Sunday but nothing of much intensity, parkrun felt harder than it was yesterday.

Halloween and or bad planning meant I missed a key run, just five minutes shy of 9hrs so still okay and back on track after last weeks unplanned “recovery week”

7h30 for me. 5 days of 100 situps + 100 squats :white_check_mark: Legs feeling a bit tender already especially after 10 mile hilly race this morning!

Shocking sleep pattern this week - average of about 6h. My own fault, totally consumed in making music again and going to gigs. Hilly 10 mile this morning, I have a slight cold and I was at a gig last night so pleased with a low 65.

It’s going to take some work to get to 100 straight.

Very very few people can do 100 straight.

In comp when your smashed to pieces that drops to virtually no one!
