Great stats.
Easy bike for me.
Great stats.
Easy bike for me.
Hours very similar to last week but this time included 2 decent run sessions & a solid turbo session. Shall get out to a club swim this evening.
Happy to be getting into a routine again but will be happier when weather lets me get for a longer ride or hilly run.
Have a great ā26 @Paul_L , donāt be a stranger ![]()
Looks like a pretty clear seasonality trend in those weight charts. Think a lot of us can probably understand that

Work eh? Who needs it.
Am up at The Grosvenor for an event that starts at 12:00 Needed to be here for 11.
Decided to drive up (parking is free on most side roads) and go for a little mooch.
Basically did a speedrun of the tourist sites.
Bit stop/start and helping tourists take better photos, but one HM later 1:44:06
7h01m this week. Mostly running, 64km, with a couple of Zwift bikes.
Obviously no swimming.
Calfs still feel kind of strange and just a bit tight, but seems to be handling some slightly longer runs again now ![]()
7h01m = 1 minute pulled back towards the āhour per day in 2026 goalā. Gotta take the small wins.
Edit: Progress report after 18 days of 2026:
Salvageable I think.
The ā100 drinks in 2026ā goal stands at 2 x 500ml Hobgoblin IPA. 98 drinks remaining. Not sure Iām going to manage that one.
Full disclosure, the ānumber of sash windows restored in 2026ā stands at zero. CBA.
Probably because you havenāt let it heal properly, havenāt had physio or done strength work? ![]()
I set out for a ~14k trail run on the moors, had hoped to get going before the rain turned up but it was very damp and drizzly, but hard a can of hard and got going
it was pretty miserable into a cold wind as well for the first 3-4K which is mostly uphill.
Despite knowing this part of the moors fairly well I usually do this route in reverse, I took a left where I thought I was supposed to but hadnāt reached the long descent so I stopped to look at OS maps on my phone and it had me on the Cleveland Way track which runs parallel to this bit about 200m away, I was sure Iād taken the correct route though but visibility wasnāt great. I had made this cockup before though ![]()
So I decided to take a short cut across the moor to get on the correct track and descent into the valley.
Except after about 10 minutes of wading through adder infested heather and bogs (one of which I fell into ![]()
) I wasnāt on the path downhill! Looked at my phone and I was well past the track I wanted so clearly the GPS on my phone hadnāt been accurate.
After a bit more wading through sodden moor I got back on the Cleveland Way, I was getting quite cold by then as I hadnāt been running so just decided to head back the way Iād come and call it character building
it might be easier to burn my shoes, socks & leggings!
Iām fairly sure Iāll die through misadventure one day
although I wonder if thereās a gap in the market for some kind of small navigation device you could possibly wear and it tells you where to go, like those ones you get for cars!
That means Iāve barely done 6 hours this week but around 2.5 hours of running. I did a couple of gym sessions as well but was tired on one of them so it was a token effort. I am considering a short go in the garage soon though if I can get motivated.
7 hrs 45
Up on last week but no great shakes
63 days to Tenerife Blue Trail ![]()
4 runs = 25 miles + 4 gym sessions for the week. Missed two runs , must try harder ![]()
8hrs and 200k on the bike, mainly commuting. Must try to get a run or two in, this week.
Iāve managed to scrape together a smidge over 7 hrs - thatās massive for my recent training. Havenāt done that since the end of September.
Hadnāt spotted the YTD tab on Strava @fruit_thief
Chianti must be the same weekend, hopeful I can blag 20k if I donāt do something reckless before then!
Managed about 40 minutes in the garage, broadband was playing up a bit so not all on Zwift!
Sunday am 8k run - 1st 5k easy, last 3k hard
Sunday pm 35 mins strength
Another 13 hours logged last week, so last three weeks have been 13hr 50m / 12hr 24m / 13hr 3m - so moving in the right direction and some small improvements starting to show through.
Did a swim set from Scientific Triathlonās podcast last week in the pool this morning
2 x (6 x 100m v.hard) 2:1 work:rest with 200m easy inbetween.
Managed to get 5 of the 12 under 1:30 which was nice, even if I did feel sick.
Lunch workout for me.
20 minute tempo run. 15 minutes of functional fitness stuff.
Last week it was a 8km progression run, this week that was extended to 10km
10km Progression Run

Better than last week and 2km more
Nice! ![]()
Bet that looks good on a graph ![]()
