First run since calf issues following the TP100 - 5km easy with Mrs T along the canal
Walked to the pub for lunch and did an hour of strength training in the garage gym for good measure
Longest ride of the year for me today. Weak as a kitten up the (few) hills but got around with a decent average.
Stopped for a shocking one hour and went through three protein bars, 2 cans of red bull, a mars bar, a flat white, slice of pizza and a cake. Stopped at the pub after finishing and sank three beers too.

First two hours felt ok and hit 71% FTP. Stopped and refilled bottles
Got about 30 mins after that and suddenly felt really weak. Decided to carry on with the planned route as there is a Co-Op about 50 miles in.
Stopped and grabbed a meal deal and hoped that would sort it.
Kept to the same route, so about 80 mins back to the other Co-Op, but just kept feeling worse.
Not what you want 6 weeks out…
Back half of the ride was probably about 60% so not terrible, but it wasn’t pretty
Every day can’t be a good day, sometimes you just have to get it done!
Today was definitely a mental fortitude test as well
Managed just over 11 hours this week but still mostly easy paced stuff.
6:40 on the bike but only one ride outside, hoping to get out again tomorrow
2:50 running, trail run today but very easy, hills were slow, did manage a short treadmill session earlier in the week with 2*2K reps.
Rest was a combo of rowing and arm cycle, will keep this up in lieu of swimming for now and see if I can add a few minutes
But… managed to roll the ankle quite badly today and had to hobble back, it’s sore but this happens regularly and should settle down fairly quickly, I’ll avoid running for a few days and see how it goes.
Feels like I’m tolerating the increased load with the easy pacing, sometimes throw in a Zwift race for a bit of intensity and fairly hard at the parkrun. Just nervous about increasing the running much as the knee is still niggling a bit.
