Training - What Training?!

10min warm up on Zwift for a calibration. Then 25kms flat, 44min, 184av watts.

I haven’t turned a pedal since Feb 9th, so I’ll take it.

Went cycling out doors for the first time this year and boy was that a wake up. I forgot what wind and proper hills is like compared to Zwift. However, the positive is that I was feeling stronger and stronger as the ride went on.

Oh and I was having an issue with my rear QR, I was struggling to stick with my buddy even on the downhills when I realised the QR was flapping about and the wheel was close to being locked on the brake. Second time it had happened that ride with the first, I was unable to move off from some lights. Need to check it out to see if it was user error or something has broken.

Tidy average after a lay-off .

Felt a bit crappy yesterday.
Woke up to a lovely head cold. No cough. No fever.

Went to the pool, but felt a bit weak

20 x 100m off 1:45 but pacing was a bit off
2000m pull/paddles to focus on rotation and arm entry

Cheers mate. It felt ok actually.

7 hours for me, not a full week as missed some riding but 2:40 turbo (of a planned 3 - whats the point mentality kicked in) and 11.5 mile easy run at sub 8m/m this weekend felt good.

Salisbury 10 was the next one for me which has been cancelled (potentially postponed?). Next events are in May/June time

That’s decent

Back to my full “normal” week, albeit I scaled back a couple of the turbo sessions as still feeling hamstring from last weekend’s fitness tests and didn’t run off the bike on Monday.
2 Swims - 2hrs - 4500m
4 Bikes - 3.5hrs - 94km (+3 days commuting - 33km)
2 Runs - 1:50 - 18km

Day 1 of Covid-19 Camp

Nice 2hr 10mins 57km easy cycle
Like, you know, one of those rides when you get to Majorca/Lanza and check that you’ve assembled the bike correctly for the big work coming up.

#SHAKEDOWNRIDE yeah?!

57km is quite long for one of those mind.

Few blisters and a bit of calf strain from yesterday’s effort.

Looks like dry land only now? Although not that specific guidance wise.

I already practice social distancing in the pool, by being annoying so no one wants to swim in my lane anyway

I practice social distancing in life.
So not much change for me

Still feeling bunged up with head cold, so 60 minutes z2 on the turbo

Well my knee pain has returned after yesterday’s turbo. It was teasing off quite well. I think a few days off could be in order.

My wife has already had a msg from a friend asking if I have a spare turbo trainer

Think I might order a quieter turbo than my current noise making machine!

If we do go into “lockdown” can you still walk the dog? He can be my run outside excuse.

Surely (he hopes) we won’t go full Spain. And if you live quite rural you can get outside as long as you keep your social distance. If you go out for a run, you’re unlikely to come into contact with anyone. Especially if you get up on the coast path, or the moors etc…

Surely it’s the same for cycling?!

Yeah - I’ve Tatton Park on my doorstep (hoping it remains open!!!) and 500m from my front door is a 5km road into rural isolation :+1:t3:
