24k run… probably longest in nearly 3 years.
Run walk seems to be working well for me both mentally and physically, whilst also just about keeping the hip pain in check.
Not fast, but feel like zero fatigue afterwards. Not something I’m used to, but very happy with.
36km XC ride with a mate. We were looking at some new to us local trails. Lots of turning around, stopping and checking.
So 36km in 2hrs50 Cracking ride though and nice to have a chat.
Steady…
My go to session
Cancel that. I’m staying at home! Mrs GB is going
Was planning on doing some outside riding today.
Just needed to change the rear brake cable on my TRP TT brake
90 minutes, complete dismantling of said brake and then having to order new one.
Decided to do the Zwift Insider group ride.
About 700 signed up, which was great until the radio tower climb when it was all spread out.
By the time I got off the Alpe, was pretty much riding alone.
Got through some TV which was good.
90 km / 3:23:50 / 236W NP / 0.72IF / 111HR
Longest turbo ever.
Still got the Mega / Uber / PRL to do
I’m glad you have an excuse (which is very good!) on why you did that this afternoon
My excuse for going shopping is poor.
The rear brake must be 7-8 years old and has never really had any upkeep.
£45 for a new one
weeks totals for me.
Run 74km, 7:05 and 535 vert
Bike, 36km XC, 2:50
Strength 30min
10hr25 total
A lot of very fit looking ex forces types tabbing round the Peaks today from this organisation THE PROJECT — BE A BLACK SHEEP
Bergen’s looked proper heavy
Beautiful morning trot in the Peaks again - Castleton - Lose Hill - Mam Tor - Cave Dale - Castleton - with Mrs T this morning - early start to see the sunrise
I was not feeling it today, see we had a family run to the coffee shop via trails. 7km, a distance pb for Mrs FP. We are walking the the 3km short way home. I’m proud of them both!
Replying to my own post but fair play to them, we walked out of the car park and they decided they did want to run the 3km home.
So 10km, with 4km of trails, 1hr21 at 8.10 pace.
163km 5:18 30.8kmh 807m elev 133bpm ave.
Admin first 40km, far too urban.
Middle 100km at 32kmh
20km cool down.
Proper Century that.
What, die a grim death over the last 20km as you watch you’re average speed fall by 0.1kmh every five minutes
Or flatAF?
Far easier today than in last weeks wind and snow…still, I bailed on the 200 and didn’t run off the bike.
Tut tut tut.
He means as in more than the 100km that I did this morning but labeled it as a century (mainly due to the alliterative opportunity).
Had a must needed rest day yesterday.
Today, 7 mile hilly run first thing, 7:19 average pace.
Then snuck on for a 15 minute turbo to let the legs recover.
Got out for a century (metric) this morning. None of my my mates were free so was a solo ride. Wanted to get it done with no fuss, back within 4 hours before 9.30.
I was a couple of glasses of red in last night when I plotted the route. Basically 50km in as straight a line as I could manage, turn and come back. Don’t know why. Was trying to avoid the hills, but evidently didn’t really pay attention when building the route as it came in at over 1300m elevation in the 100km.
Ended up on a bridle path at one point as well which was fun. And 2km (twice) of the proper freshly ‘laid’ cheap gravel tarmac road stuff. Was seriously sketchy going round corners with 2cm of loose gravel under my tyres. Good fun though.
Also found a plateau that I can use for tt practise. It’s not flat, but as flat as I’m ever gonna get here. Pretty long straights and okish road surface. About 15km section, so might drive there a few times (as it’s a bit of a trek) in my build to do a back and forth, 60 km session on the tri bars.
Tried to tri bar as much as poss and my back was not happy with me by the end. Deffo wasn’t feeling like running a sub 90 HM when I got in.
Worked a bit harder than planned and have been tired and hungry all day. Think I need to ride with mates for the slower, steady endurance rides as I just want to crack on when I’m solo (not that I’m fast).

Another solid week for me. Happy with progress, but a long way to go to get fast on a bike. Man I hope cotswolds roads are better than what we have here!
