Training - What Training?!

Just checking I can do it IRL. 2h25m for a 100km (41.6kph avg). 2:07 for 90km but last 10 was straight into a 20kph head wind.

Next stop a sub 4h century

That’s a great effort, I always see people out exercising on Fridays, but im in relax mode from about 3pm and switched off :see_no_evil::beers:

5 day Thames Path 71 mile walk done with Mrs T and bloody great backpack (plus carrying hers as well for quite a bit of time)

1289 TSS in 5 days but plenty of vino and fine dining along the way

Lunch, 30 minute spin class

Evening, 1.5k swim

10k run this morning after a functional session at the gym last night.

Lovely and warm outside, what a difference it makes.

vert session at Cathys Hill. 12km, 2:34 and 860mtrs vert. I wanted 1200 rmtrs but felt really out of sorts today. So I cut it short.

The new insoles were ok but with my preferred socks made my feet hot. I will probably order some new carbon ones and hope for the best.

Yeah - I get “hot” feet, too.
It’s bloody awful.

I’ve now found 2XU Vectr socks to be perfect (for me)

Yeah it’s a nice spot.I’m on the cafe now. Yeah I think the issue is the insoles are thicker.
I think at this late stage, I’d rather stick with the socks I know work and have a thinner insole.
My socks for ultra and trail are the Hilly Mono Ultra.

10km run first thing, pretty tired after yesterday’s efforts.

Last 200 metres, got chased by a goose.

Nope. Every training run has been 5min Kms + my walk breaks.
Didn’t have any breaks in that, but could not slow down.
Hoping the walks kill the bike cadence a bit.
Felt good after km tho.
Bike pace bit off, but assume still carrying fair bit of fatigue

Got up early !

First time for a long time, thank God.

Met 7 other IMUK” ers at Leigh sports village at SEVEN o’clock … what’s wrong with these people?

We did the bit from the flash and then a loop and a half, time was then pressing as my girlfriend had a hysterectomy yesterday so for once time was pressing…!

They continued and I cut through to Bolton town centre and back to the flash, guided by a cracking fella who I’m very greatful tool.

We had a puncture ( me!) and several stops two of the riders were over 60.

120 ish kms done in 4.5 hours ride time, av hr was 124, despite racing some of the climbs.

Nice to meet virtual tri friends in real life, this one even
