Training - What Training?!

Went training twice… well went to start, then stopped after 5 mins.

That’s never happened to me before?!

I’m far from the most gifted triathlete, but motivation wise I’m normally bordering on elite for an oldie…. going to sack it off for a day or so and tri again.

These things happen I guess.

Yes they do. Sleep, rest, eat and get back on it when you’re ready. It’ll be there in a day or 3.

I’ve had that a couple of times. Now my mantra is ‘Just make it past Tesco Express and see how you feel’ (which is about 200 mtrs!)

Did three hours Monday, but nothing much since, huge dose of CBA.

Slept through my alarm and missed PT this morning…

I’ve actually just phoned and volunteered for overtime tonight, there always short, and I’ll get a big break for the gym.

200m”s … your runs are 20 k these days ?!

Yeah but that first 5mins is still a bastard!

I’ve just done 6km easy trail with 10 x hill repeats. 40mins and sticky AF

Hard work at the min

One of the hours Monday was 30 on 30 off on the boxing bag….

When I’d finished, and it was a long time coming, a guy asked me why I’d been swimming in my t shirt?!

What doesn’t kill you I guess, you have a race soon?

@Spina, that’s some serious workout!

I did a 5k treadmill uphill run, 30 minute spin class.

Aye, if I’m in an apathetic mood for running I say to myself repeatedly, ‘just half an hour’ …

Short n sweaty treadmill run this morning. 30mins 12kph with 2x18kph intervals. Managed to hold this pace for 2mins this time - up 30s from last time. Hit (and held for 15s) a new maxHR of 164bpm which was hard enough to make me retch afterwards. Just made it outside in time…

How long ?

Club Handicap race
7km of mixed terrain, with steps, “scree” and a hill
7th on the night, but in a course record, bloody sweltering and humid.
Awful conditions

I’m putting this out there because I need to be held to account. I have this afternoon off and planning a run/walk of not less than 50km. :crossed_fingers:

Lat meeting ends at 11.00.

I have two choices. I can hit the trails straight from my door but will have to do some out and backs on some sections to make the distance, plus there won’t be much elevation.

The other option is run the 8km of pavement to get to the start of the SDW, do some of that and then get back from there another 8km of pavement. (parking is only 4hrs, so I can’t drive to SDW).

Will decide later, usually just as I’m heading out the door
