Training - What Training?!

Great result for both of you. As your 6y/o gets faster and you get older, he will soon be beating you

Assume a typo somewhere, NP 222 for 2 hrs with a 20min best of 214?

Not necessarily. The nature of NP compared to AP makes this perfectly feasible.

What Stenard said. There were some Flandrian style lumps in there to make certain short periods fairly ‘intense’. But I can’t show you a graph because my Barometer has broken :man_shrugging:

You can just click the “correct elevation” button on either Strava or Garmin Connect.

Did think it was weird that your ride had 0 metres climbed. It thought Strava would have corrected that automatically

A wins a win…!
Only ever won one race myself

At my age the overall is very optimistic to say the least!

Fantastic the little fella did well too!

Great work

Yes for both

Finally back to it after 10 days off because of this blooming cold. Haven’t felt unwell the last few days but was still full of snot and a wheezy chest. Still a bit wheezy but decided enough was enough and will keep things easy until that passes. Did my short luncthime run which is on just over 4km but very hilly and muddy.

Not sure where @gingerbongo was mocking my lack of hills - but I rode out to look at Mow Cop today. Wussed out of the final 1:3 section, as it looked too slippy (and hard. Way too hard)

Tried it three times in different sportives…

All on tt bikes.

2/3 ain’t bad, only walked the last bit once.

It is a beast !

@Poet I find that last section of Mow Cop solid and you have to commit to it or bail onto that left turn.
A guy I know had a chain snap when half way up that last bit and it wasn’t pretty!

I got to the pub car park, looked up to the right and thought “that looks wet. And hard. NAH!”

Though riding out there is closer than I thought and a decent route, so will give it another bash in the dry!

There is nothing even approaching that at IMUK.
But there is one three mile stretch we’re your 2-7% but that bit normally gets a tail or zero wind.

Haha it does look daunting but wait for a dry clear day and the view from the top where the ruins are is fantastic.
Had a look at your Strava and you took a good route

Crosswind going up there today - 9km @ 11%
257W NP and that felt fine.

I’m going to head over and do Bolton soon, so I know what hills round here to target

Standard route down to Congleton, then standard route through Rode Hall - I’ve just never done the Mow Cop bit :joy:
Some bloody road was proper closed going into Sandbach, so I had to go all the way round and ended up getting lost there (it’s quite pretty in the centre!)
