Training - What Training?!

That sounds ace!!

Definitely going to get involved next time. A few pics on Instagram (Though admittedly most of the fast guys duking it out at the front).

Isn’t it just a grid?

For the majority yes - which is why the idea works. Imagine standing in central London and being told two random street names and having 2 minutes to work out where that is and where they meet, and how best to get there, before everyone sprinting off.

Lower Manhattan (where it finished) isn’t as clean a grid and is where people started going down different streets slightly. Looks like I added about 0.4 miles than some others by not choosing the best route to go down and not correcting early enough

We have that in London albeit on bikes. Have a Google for alleycat races.

That’s exactly what it’s based on. Slightly safer on foot I think though

3k in the pool this evening, with main set being 5x500 at increasing SPM.

Pleased to see CTL hit 100 upon loading to TP. :+1:

I would’ve thought the orienteering racing is a better option for runs, as you have the navigate to multiple controls rather than just start finish - but I guess getting the map makes it quite different.

Maybe some of you who are getting ill are doing too much “20%” for this time of year :upside_down_face:

100km & 2k of climb on some of my favourite B roads.

My face is equally filthy

There are specialist websites for that sort of thing. Apparently.

Another slow week for me so far,

1 swim - 1K
1 bike - 31k
2 runs - 7 & 10K

Out late tonight so can’t see much happening tomorrow then the trail run on Sunday.

CBA at the moment but not totally concerned, the rest will help.

Jeff

Sacked it off again day.
A near Total rest week, few ales tonight, then the family party tomorrow, driving back on Sunday.
So that’ll be nada on Sat and Sun, too.

I think that company did a half marathon in similar format based around a late night bar in Hackney Wick recently. Sounds like they put on interesting urban events. Would like to do the next one of these in London.

Yep that’s them - I first heard about them when they did a half marathon in NYC over the summer just a few months before the London event. Definitely entering next year - running laps of Central Park soon became rather dull (and silly expensive) so anything that’s slightly different is always good!

2 runs this week, that’s it.

Trying curling. Vigorous sweeping can go on Strava right?

Back at it now…

15 hours this week.
10.5 of them swimming cycling and running.

First swim disaster… second bang on wee I was six weeks ago… benefit if being steady I guess.

Running at this weight is slow but it’ll come.

Bike power good but I wouldn’t want to ride uphill for a long time…!
