On and off sleet and sun all day.

Managed to get out for a decent bit of the day for my jog

Just walked to Tescoes now though. It’s bloody freezing out there

No training last night as still felt weak.

Got up for a swim this morning
Thought I’d just do some 100s as they are not too taxing.

Somehow going faster…
Decided to not go mad and stopped after 15 otherwise I could have dug myself further into the abyss

Finished off with some fins/snorkel work with some catch up and one arm

11km easy run, 1.02 at 5.37 pace

Tried the Clifton 8s for the first time. Forgotten how springy a new shoe is

Continuing to take the slight p*** out of working from home and went out for an hour on the bike over lunchtime. Nice 25km, weather still good up here at the moment after Wednesday’s snow.

Very tempted to test the ankle out with a light jog tomorrow but forcing myself to give it another week.

Little bit tough mostly because of my hangover

Mar.22 – Month
I’m going to put March down as just one of those months.
My ‘Weigh In’ thread confession covers a trip to Ireland for a wedding in the middle of March.
But it has really been a story about the left shoulder injury I picked up at the end of Feb.
I wasn’t able to get a physio appointment before I went to Ireland.

So, I settled for my second Thai Massage…
Just one person this time, not a tag team, but 5 minutes in she stood up on my back! :astonished:
(I didn’t realise my rib cage could be squashed so much, as all the air in my lungs left.)
This time I knew to say ‘No!’ to the hot stones, except I didn’t get asked, just pummelled again.
And before the jokers start, the only happy ending is when the hour is up.
Despite the pain and suffering, I still think ÂŁ50 for 60 minutes is a bargain.

Now I’d skipped all weights, skipping and boxing in March, but my shoulder was not improving.
By the time I struggled to lift a bag of shopping out of the car I knew I had to see a physio.
Finally had my appointment yesterday and it turns out I have tendonitis.
So, I will need further treatment sessions and I have some recuperation exercises to do too.

Then to top it all off, last night…
My left calf seized solid in the middle of the night waking me up in sharp pain.
Glad I am WFH without ‘Smellovision’ on Teams, as both my calf and shoulder are coated in this.

Anyway, hardly worth mentioning the training, but here it is anyway…

Swim – 4.4 km
Just 2 short sessions and my shoulder playing up meant way too much kicking only.

Bike (Turbo) – 236 km
Better than last month, but still missing sessions or cutting them short.

Run – 33 km
Poor, really struggled to get out of bed in the mornings, despite all my kit being laid out.

Let’s see if the road to recovery in April is any better.

Cheers, Paul.

Month of March for me
Running 358km / 28 hours (32 activities, on wednesday I went out twice 'cos I had to cut my pre stand-up one short and went out again) - my highest monthly distance ever, basically made up of 10-12km almost every day with a couple of longer ones.

Cycling 7 hours indoors in 11 activites, and 7 hours outdoors in 3 activities.

Almost all of the activity done between 130 and 155 bpm, which with my normal max, puts me right in the “grey zone etc.” that you’re told not to do it in, but screw you all.

Oh and my running total km’s for the year is now at 998.75km.

Managed to move another 850kg bag of soil last night.
Between that, moving dust sheets daily, vacuuming, dusting, getting up to lay sheets down again, I’ve not had time for training again this week :sob:

Up at 6am today filling some holes.
Builder is back solo at 9am to finish off.

Off to B&Q for some bits now

Woke up to the opportunity for a ParkRun so I ran down to the start with a minute to spare and put in a tempo effort. Started feeling good about 3km in and picked it up slightly for the last km to finish ahead of the pacer. Then jogged home for 11.6km.
