Top marks for ticking off those sessions, I had my doubts
.Are you being coached for a specific event?
Treadmill intervals, 35 mins Zwift workout
1.5 min @15kph couldn’t handle the prescribed 3 mins
5x 1min @14kph
3x 2min @14kph
Filmed it. I think my form looks okay at those paces. Not so much at easy pace. And I need to lose 10kg+.
First proper ride in a while today. No showers, the recent winds had dropped & conditions were great but did get cooler as the roads climbed & I had to pull on arm-warmers.
110km/2000mtrs followed up with a 30min ROTB.
Shall be smashing the cider tonight, so apologies in advance if I chat even more shit than usual ![]()
20 mile
out and back. BBC weather forecast said dry and sunny all afternoon. So it hailed for the duration.
Pretty light week. Variable weather after the heat wave hasn’t made cycling outside particularly appealing. It was freezing yesterday.
‘A’ race is Cotswold Classic this year. I mentioned a little while ago on the coaching thread that I’m the guinea pig for one of my club coaches who’s going for his BTF coaching diploma.
Followed up the AM session with an hour bouldering with a small person. Legs tired but Ive started attempting the v2/3 routes and managed a couple of them.

Secret recce for running the whole route with the boys ![]()
So T1 is pretty tough for you? Hard work getting out of the wetsuit or something that you need to train it with weights?
1h Zwift Coco @ 200w
30 min treadmill run: 6km
Feeling it more than I should be……
4 mile run this morning. Not done much since I had Covid, so thought I’d test the legs on a few hills.
It felt better than expected, still bloody tough and pace is shocking compared to where it was just a few years ago.
I now have 14 weeks until my 10k trail run and I’m buzzing again.
Plan is build some miles over the next 6 weeks then move on to an 8 week plan I’ve downloaded.
Stick to some decent eating and hopefully tone a bit as well!
I do it blindfolded as well
67km at 29kmh last night. The first time in years I’ve managed to ride even close to that pace. 20k on my own, the rest in a group but I was on the front for large chunks.
Prob working too hard given I have a sportive tomorrow. Strada Shropshire, 170km, 2500m.
30 minute run this morning
2 hr 45 of Zwifting this afternoon.
Legs on fire
20 hours this week
Legs feeling it now but a long brick run after 2hrs on the bike. Gutted I didn’t do a sub 40 but had to ease it back.
2 weeks to Clumber Park and 8 weeks to worlds in Romania.
I was up near Beauly, Inverness last week on hols and did a couple of rides up long paved dead end Glen roads (I could only fit my roadie on the roof rack). One of them was up Glen Strathfarrar, a long private estate road up to a couple of hydroelectric dams. It’s gated, but welcomes walkers and cyclists. It must be one of the longest closed roads in the UK and was probably the best road I’ve ridden in the UK for the views and solitude (maybe 20k from the gate to the farthest dam when the tarmac turns to gravel). Up there with the classic roads of the west coast and the Lakes I’d say. If I’d had my CX bike I could have just kept going.
20km easy. Ran the first 11km on my own at about 5.40pace from memory, then resumed the run when I met the friends I run with down here. The 9km with them was a fair bit slower.
11km steady on the treadmill, 1.5% incline.
