Training - What Training?!

Make some room in that trophy cabinet too

My wheelie bin is the trophy cabinet.
I don’t have a single medal, race number, or trophy.

I have photos of them.
And my memories

Put them on eBay, make a few pennies back on the race entry

Apparently this one is rare, maybe only 2000 or so out there?

They’re usually in the bin before I leave the race site :face_with_peeking_eye:

I like being able to ask for no medal and t-shirt these days :+1:t3:

Went to St Andrews lake (near Rochester) caught up with @ukironman for a fantastic OW swim 2 * large laps, 1*small for 1300m, my first in a lake for years, and first since last summer in Cornwall. Crystal clear spring water lake, The lake manager said the tests come back a step under drinking water, not a grain of sand in it. Looking at a Sprint Tri out of there this year , so anyone in the area keep an eye out, and get your arses down there for a swim

Swimming 1:45-1:50’s easy in the pool.

Done 3 sea swims on holiday, all saying around 2:20-2:25’s. Hopefully the GPS is always wrong!

Have you seen the Strava distance correction tool?? Pointed out to me… Today!!
Only on PC, but if you go to the activity and the 3 dots. It’ll tweak it with some magic (it is reversible).

I haven’t. Is it on payable version only?
If not I’ll check it out when I get home. Not that important really but would be good to know as I felt like I wasn’t doing much wrong

Don’t know I’m afraid as I do subscribe. I corrected some earlier, and all came in a bit closer to pool times.

And @PCP - it’s on the free version, you can access it via mobile…

Go to you mobile browser of choice
Enter the URL for strava
Log in

Click the three bars in the top right
Select ā€œMy Activitiesesesā€
Click the one you wish to amend

Click the three dots in the mid left
Then ā€œCorrect Distanceā€
As you can see, I’ve already done it for this one, so it now says ā€œRevert Distanceā€

Cheers. Will have a look.

Corrected 1 swim to 45sec/100 and another to 1:18/100

I’ll just assume I’m around the usual.

Just noticed my strava, makes me look like i swam slower than an average IMJ newb. I was chatting to the lifeguard for 15minutes and forgot to stop my watch

Another 30 minute spin class.

EDM is a form of music, apparently. Sounds like anxiety.

Have to admit I raised an eyebrow at your speed

Another walk in the bag.

21 miles of misery this morning.
Needed to get a long run in the bag and last week’s attempt was woeful.
Again really shows that the fitness is there, it’s just hidden under a mountain of fatigue.
Only 3 more key workouts and then a reasonably aggressive taper.

Had some pitstops this morning as I was doing loops to my house, so some fluid each loop, then a couple of loo breaks and one run into a Tesco to grab some coke after 15 miles

21 miles / 2:42:44 / 7:45 per mile (9:15 run / 0:45 walk)

Very nice

Woke up on time, then started on a job I assumed would take 15 minutes, which ended up taking 75 minutes :sob:

I had to get the saw out to cut up some polystyrene to package something.

Bloody hell.

Like Christmas in the kitchen!!!

And OH THE STATIC!

Literally clings to everything.

So that was my training.
Walked the dog, skipped the bakery, had no eggs at home, cried a little whilst eating my plain toast.

At ā€œworkā€ now, waiting for the courier to pick up the polystyrene infested item, then can go out for a little joggette :man_running:t4::hourglass:

Intervals this morning, didn’t manage the last 2 as my dodgy stomach was threatening to explode. No desire to eat, so I’m shifting today’s goal to a fast and some weight loss.
