Training - What Training?!

Hope they can fix you

They’re trying. Quite a lot of massage today. Quite painful! Just have to do keep doing the exercises.

Says knows a few runners struggle post covid with running

Nice :muscle:
What’s your resting and max HR?

Resting is 43 BPM, Max is 190 BPM

I always run my easy runs based on RPE, just look at stats after. Sometimes a Z1 run feels like a grind, other days, like today, it feels great

That’s a decent difference, my resting is 38 and max 175

Based on LTHR of 159 my Z1 is 104 - 126. Most of my easy runs are in Z2

54km at faster than planned IM pace, kind of got carried away at the start, wondered how sustainable it was, not very would be the answer for the full distance!

My LTHR is 171

1 hour on a road bike outside.
It was flat. Then I tried a hill.
It wasn’t pretty :joy::see_no_evil:

I tried swimming today, it felt exhausting but the stats looked okay. Ironman paces at 147-151bpm.

Been a stressful day with presentation prep, team stuff and recruitment panels.

Have running gear but head isn’t there. Calf feels tight and I still have tons of notes to write.
Went for a 3km walk earlier. Haven’t run since Saturday but hard to think what I’m gaining from forcing myself out?

A mental break?

Yes could be. I think my head is tense and I’m thinking that running might tighten something I don’t want tightened before Saturday.

I think a very light tomorrow night when the van is at the first site might be better. I’ll be more relaxed then.

Just a 30 minute spin class before work.

Summer is certainly on its way!

Managed to jump in the river for 1.9k, easy plod but almost enjoyed it and it wasn’t that cold.

Followed it up by a badly paced 5K where I’d planned on building by 10 seconds per K to around 5K, and not the last 2K’s at 5K pace  frightening to think it wasn’t far off my 70.3 pace a couple of years ago!

Head out for a run. Despite being a beautiful evening wasn’t really feeling it, but luckily was absolutely fine once I got going.

Planned to do 3 x 2km off, on. But was feeling quite settled towards the end of my first interval so thought I’d carry on to 6km. Then figured 7 would be better, third of a half mara and all that. Was feeling dialled in and comfy so decided to carry on to 10.

Felt pretty comfortable the whole way, and my cool down kms back home were clipping along nicely as well.

Super glad I went out now. :+1:t3:

So, just a comfortable run at 1:25’ish pace then, and that included w\up & C\D

But that heart-rate trajectory :open_mouth:, by the time you’re at 21km you’ll be on 210bpm :grinning:.

Bet he can’t do that when he gets back to T2 and someone’s took his trainers for a bike ride

About Z3 for him!

Swimming I’m absolutely fine, but definitely struggled running - have had to stop if the effort goes up. Feels like I’m just not getting oxygenated or something if that makes sense
