TT Smackdown 2025

Ohhh hello. Sweet ride. Get rid of that pump though.

Thanks - never learnt how to use co2 in the heat of battle though, and always have this slight anxiety about getting n+1 punctures where n is how many cartridges.

Planning on carrying 1 spare tube, 3 levers, pump, repair kit in case 2nd/3rd/4th/5th puncture, chain link & mini multi tool with chain tool, 2 * 750ml bottles, maybe 4 geis. Think that’s it. Not quite sure where on the bike it all fits though.

Sorry of this makes no sense, may I confess have been home alone all afternoon and broke the 2 pint rule somewhere around 3pm

Tape the gels to the top tube. If you tape the rip-off tab you dont have to worry about dropping that and it opens it as your rip it off. As for the rest a saddle bag should do you

The really nice thing is that the chain is super clean, if you have to change a wheel or otherwise meddle with the drive train you don’t end up looking like a coal miner. It’s worth it just for that :wrench:

Edit: my mork having just put newly waxed chain back on, no gloves

You need some tape on that valve hole.
And some FSA TriMax cranks.

Also, biggie smalls. 3 o’clock. And your borders need weeding

Not a single weed in that border sunshine. I specifically selected that site! :joy:

Yeah I’ll tape up the hole for the race. Don’t know what those cranks are! Some tt1 joke I assume?

If both bikes are the same speed e.g. 10 speed you should find that the cassette will work with either SRAM or Shimano.

Very nice looking bike though!

no flowers on your strawberries? You should be eating some by now in your sunny southern utopia?

Jesus. I’m embarrassed to show you mine.

Fuckin ell. I definitely need a new bike… something probably from the last decade would be a start

Those in the pic are late season strawberries. The early season ones have flowered. :+1:t3:

Good spot though

First bash out on the TT.
First ten minutes spent wondering how on earth I sat on it for 5+ hours last year.
Hips need some work.
Power crap. Pace ok.

Didn’t need to mow or edge the lawn :grimacing:

Edit. Yes it’s a canyon. I know they need to work on their branding. So subtle.

There’s a position! Making me think I need to get my bars dropped under the bottom spacers now so don’t miss out on the gainzz

I don’t think I’m particularly aero on it. No matter how much I change things, I seem to end up in similar place.

Annoyingly when I crammed a last minute bike fit last year, the fitter sat on it and his position looked a million times better than mine :sob:

What’s the elevation gain on the bike course?

Elevation you say???
Have you been to the Fens?
Or Amsterdam?
Those canal bridges make more elevation than this course.

It’s crazy flat.

There’s a bridge over the A-road that you do a few of times I think?

Very slow hour on the treadmill. But… It’s an hour on feet and the knee felt better after the run.

Might actually finish this race if can keep building like this.

I too have been focusing on weight reduction. Extreme dieting ended yesterday and almost hit my target.

Only now can I start increasing the training. Tbh I’m starting from a low bar so have a lot of catching up to do.

Just getting round and hopefully enjoying it is my A Plan. First triathlon in 6 years.
