They’re good if you can mount them near the middle. There’s a bit of flex if you have to mount off to one side. They don’t snap like the carbon ones @stenard had.
George fox also makes and sells some.
Jason Swann on the TT forum and Facebook group manufactures the tilt bracket to fit any bars. Though his design does make the elbows narrower so something to consider.
I do aerobar work all year round, so got “used” to them, but I’ve gone back to normal pads now, as you can shift your elbows around a little for a bit of comfort/slight change every now and again.
How much are they? I like the look of these Deda Jet One but my Profile Design ones are fine and have a fair bit of adjustability. I do need new pads for my ancient armrests though.
I was looking at my position. I find that I hold my shoulders and therefore torso up rather than relaxing it down and being ‘flatter’. I was thinking that I also need to take my elbows forward. I can move my armrests independently of where the bars attach and moved them about 1cm forward and it is much more comfortable but also naturally has me relaxing my torso down to a better aero position too. Well better from the eyeball wind tunnel.
Yeah, something like that or the one @Jgav pinned. Mine at the moment are really flat. I had them as narrow as physically possible on the bike and they seemed ok. My shoulders ache at the start for ten mins but then settle ok after that. Deffo need a more permanent Garmin setup, as that just got in my way. May have to look at what @stenard suggested wat back when, and be a bit more organised.
@pacha - not cheap. Just cheapER. though just looked at the Deda ones you pointed out, and they’re much cheaper than them!!! That’s almost as much as my bike cost! haha
They do look good but it’s a lot of money to spend on carbon extensions. I guess it depends on the value you put racing/speed/comfort.
Decent arm cups are relatively cheap and made a big difference in my confidence on the bars. Can corner pretty well on them and on Sunday I could go past people sitting up round corners.
I really loke these races but there too far without a TT showdown. So if @Poet sorts his arms out, @Jorgan continues his obvious return to tri then I am in. @joex might fancy it too.
I would suggest people sign up now, as the event just sort of faded away this year the closer we got. Takes faith, but if there were three names registered now, the likelihood more will join is exponential.
