Virtual Zwift Rides

All for some neon wheels  My Madone & Tarmac Pro are faster on the flat & uphill, although I believe on the flat all the best frames are pretty much on a par.

Yes. V true - seconds between them

The Tron however, is way off the pace going uphill! According to Zwift Insider. Still, once I’ve bagged it, I’ll go back to flat racing anyway!

3 lap Watopia Flat Route race just now, held the front group of A’s and B’sand although didn’t really have much left for the sprint, managed to get 3rd B. Just behind a 52kg over 50 chap and just in front of a 53kg over 50 chap :see_no_evil:

274W average which was 4.01W/Kg - going in the right direction. Have noticed the extra above threshold watts gained since starting Zwifting have a made a big difference at the starts more than anything - that first 1-2 mins not quite so so :face_vomiting:

made L33 last night, 20k XP to get to 34 though, that’s 1000km not including the small extras you get but i do have a few routes i can tick off to help that. L25, the old max is 110k XP, L33 was 200k XP, L50 is 500k XP. That is some increase! Doubt I’ll be there for a while

6 for me

5 here, gloves every time

Not sure, prob 7 or 8 times. Gloves or helmet.

About 7 times for me, always gloves or helmet.

Got about 200m more to climb to complete the Everest challenge and get myself my first bike!

Yesterday was my first experiment using a custom workout while I went up; it was 20 blocks of 3 minutes @ 250w. Found it much easier to go up this way with ERG mode (original Kickr) keeping me steady, and I gained XP at a decent rate (32XP every 3 mins).

When not using ERG mode I sometimes find myself almost spinning out on flats putting out relatively low watts. Is there a way to increase the resistance? I’m definitely finding I’m more of a grinder.

Set the realism setting lower. I’ve got it around 50%

It means 10% hills feel like 5% you still get the correct calculated speed but you use fewer gears. The benefit to you is that the changes between slopes and flats will be smaller and you’ll spin out less. You can also push more watts downhill which can be useful in a race.

A bit of badge clearing up this evening, 2015 worlds and cobbles at Richmond and then Astoria 8 in NY, also got the 600+W one

Got them on my third climb. Sorry!

Finally got the unemployed badge tonight

That’s the site I’ve been recommending since I joined zwift!

Rowing is coming in a few weeks: https://m.soundcloud.com/velonews/pyso-ep-60-zwift-ceo-eric-min-on-tradition-and-innovation (55mins in)

That’ll be good for a few of you I imagine. Although I did have to laugh just after that…Eric Min reckons zwift will be integrated into the normal UCI calendar next year. Outside of a covid situation, I can’t see that at all!
