I was reading something about the difficulty setting for tall and heavy people, like me;
On Fuego Flats set the difficulty at 50%, so you can feel the slight differences in incline and terrain and maintain the pace.
For rolling courses, have it around 30%, so you can feel the incline and push a bit harder.
For courses with a hill, set it at 20%, so you can avoid changing gears so much and just churn it out.
Seems to makes sense to me?
I have gone from using my pedals as a power source, to using the trainer.
I think I will use my pedals tomorrow and see if there is a difference, as I recall myself thinking that the trainer under-reads…
K, best if you do an activity on zwift (so something that will appear in zwiftpower) - ie not a free ride.
Start zwift and your head unit (you can crop and offset timings so don’t need to be accurate)
Ride… save zwift event, save your pedals (I was using garmin connect).
Go on zwiftpower… profile… then analysis tab and create new data set
Then once its created you just have to crop and offset so that the 2 charts start to overlay each other as best you can… then it’ll give you all the stats.
It’ll auto populate the title and you dont need the zwift .fit file if you are picking from drop down.
You can enter the power source both in top section (which will be your turbo) and the bottom section (which will be your pedals when you upload the file).
Its incredibly simple… much easier when you have an activity and file to play with.
haha - its exciting innit. Tho I was somewhat disappointed after doing 2 comparisons I had no tech advantage to be gained…
I guess the positive I have to highly comparable power sources should be the winner…
That is a positive for sure - to know that your trainer is truly comparable to your pedals is brilliant.
As then you know your outdoor vs indoor efforts are all spot on
Indoors always feels way harder to me, probably due to heat?
I’ve been looking at one of those air pumps, instead of a fan:
So is anyone up for a Zwift Tritalk race?
It would be quite easy now with the meet-up feature to pick a suitable date, time and course for the majority. And I’m hoping the leaderboard is up and running in meet-up now? Havn’t done one for a while.
Can pick a long course that has a long climb, short climb and the finishing sprint so something for the diesel engines and the sprinters. And if we put our ZP cat before our name we can see who’s in our cat on the screen eg ‘[A] Daz Carter’.
Anyone up for it?
Happy to arrange the meet-up. But you can only set it up 7 days beforehand.
Interested - lunches or evenings for me. Id rather a shorter/flatter course. Think its more likely to keep any chasing group of lower category (and fake category A) riders in contention.
Any decent hill would turn it into a TT almost.
But will join in owt really.
Jumped on the bike and straight into a race just as the race started. 400W to get onto the back of the Ds with the intention of riding as far up the field as I could. Then the doorbell went and I had to get off to sort that out, by the time I was back the race was so far ahead that it wasn’t worth it. Canned it and joined another instead, this time a short ish flat BC race. Started off OK but legs didn’t want to play, got gapped and made it on, but burned some matches, then gapped again on the next hill and couldn’t chase back on. Kept up the pace in a 2 up for a while and then deliberately dropped to the chase group. Did ok and not a bad sweet spot ride but it really should have been a threshold + effort and I didn’t have it in me to push that hard today.
