That volcano circuit looks decent.
1120.
Looks like it all starts together, too.
Not done one of them before.
Some good pros on the start list for that one, wouldn’t let me join when I had a look on the companion app, probably for the best
Racing on a Weds is before or after work for me.
@gingerbongo - I’m in for that volcano circuit now
♂:face_vomiting:
As I suspected these vo2 sessions werent that hard at all so I did them back to back, from turbo to treadmill. But thats the final ZA Tri academy workouts done.
Aiming for a 10k race then a 40km TT later this week. The 20k was hard but theoretically Im better at 40k so Im giving it a crack.
I’ve got the 5km on Saturday at 0940, but will do it outdoors with Zwift running in the background
Got the Club Champs 10km on 19th Dec, so there’s that instead.
Might order a pair of Alpha’s to send back

I’d say ‘I might join you’ but even virtually you’d be leaving me for dust in the first 200m!
Cleared up the Innsbruck routes today with the Lutscher CCW, first KOM ascent in 24.59; second in 24.28, can’t be many out there today as no-one overtook me on the second trip up the hill
Bitch.
I managed 22:xx and 24:xx
Died a bit second time around

Anyone fancy a TTT on Thursday? I’d be happy to drop down and help out a team if it’s 7ish.
I’m a maybe, if there’s enough of us. There’s a race up the Alpe that I’ve got my eyes on.
I won’t be quick up the alpe!
Sounds good
Well had my first real bad experience…
Joined an open crit - 27km on Dolphin course. ZP suggested was only a couple of As and a relatively small field (whether this played on my mind - dont know).
Race starts as normal… expect the hard start and in with the front (just about)… tho its quite a large group. Hard up the hill… and the rollers… and over start. Now - 14 laps I kinda thought it might ease off - but it didnt.
Im already starting to drop to back of group despite 4.5-5w/kg every time I look.
Then what really got me - the group was stacked with Bs and Cs and the gaps kept coming. Maybe I burned some matches sliding off the group early on - but I lost the will quite quickly and binned it
Looks like on the results it massively split later - my 5 min power max is 329… not sure what I couldve done to even stay up there
Only 5k of data… but 4.45wkg avg…
Few of the results…
EDIT - 33 people DQd!!
11 in wrong cat
2 suspended riders!!
4 exceeding wkg limits
14 no HR
1 zpower rider
One thing I noticed in that B grade race I did on Friday was that in the game, there were shed loads of Japanese and Korean riders kicking me all over the shop. However, in ZP only on or two were in the results and on of those was behind me.
4 A+ as well, was there the powerups thing?
It was similar for me the other day, people seemed to sign up quite late. I hung on until lap 6 or 7 and just couldn’t be bothered to fight back on again. Although the Wattbike lag doesn’t help me.
I would usually, but I have a socially distanced ramble at lunchtime, that the boss has arranged with some new colleagues we’ve not met
Yeah everyone deployed on the hill. I had feather 2 of 3 so I wasnt “punished”!
Maybe had it been labelled a cat A field and everyone around a cat A then mentally Idve expected it to be brutal.
Looked at the Cat B winners profile and nothing to suggest I should be going backwards. I’ll naturally recalibrate turbo to make sure its not that (grasping for excuses). Even had bl00dy rest day Monday!
Never seen more than 2 or 3 Dqd before. Or seen a suspended rider!
I was on innsbruck today, my inertia adjustment rides okay at up to 3% or 4% (on 50% so that’s only 1% real supposedly) but obviously loads of innsbruck is 10%, and I still can’t ride that, it’s too much resistance, I could adjust for that, but at the same time, I spin out my biggest gear on almost the slightest downhill. So this means I’m going to need to continously adjust things depending on gradient, so frustrating!
What do people do when it goes from 10% to 2% over a short time, for me that requires changing over 60 gear inches (and it’s 180 watts at 10% but 300 watts at 2% on those gears), which is just so utterly unrealistic! Way too much programming work.
Excuse the ignorance Jim but what is your zwift set up?
