Level 50 by Monday??
Ticked off the Innsbruck Worlds short lap, this morning. As the weather looks pretty bad for tomorrow, I might try to do a longer Watopia ride. Maybe the 4 Horsemen.
Quatch Quest completed this morning. Kind of back on the route badge hunt. Pretty much all the long ones ticked off.
London Pretzel longest one left. That, and Three Sisters and Achterbahn are the only ones that seem like they’d require more than a 90min workout. Three Sisters is annoying, because I did that as one of my first ever zwift events (stage 1 of last year’s Haute Route), but I did the first start time of the whole thing and they had a finish line bug where it ended 100m before the route arch. I was too much of a newbie to realise.
Lutscher course today, finally.
Maybe 3rd time I’d started it but previous times I was buggered if I was going back up to complete the course.
Really slow grinding on the first time up, my little avatar doing standing climbs all the way up. Struck me as a little odd but kept on. Only near the top did I remember something called “the little chainring” after which things were a lot easier. Duh.
I know I need to get out riding more IRL but this is ridiculous.
400W flier on Road to Sky you say?
36 hours at 5.4W/kg sounds believable, yeah?
Have TriTalk got their own kit? Easy to identify others then.
London Pretzel race this pm. Ouch, 1hr 26mins of ‘fun’.
Annoyed to miss a split in London but solid up Fox and Box, PR’d Box after 1hr 10min racing so happy with that.
3R Endurance thus afternoon 25 laps volcano loop for about 67 miles stayed on the fence this week and finished in the bunch in 2.30.
Garage was freezing didn’t get a route badge but got my arctic warfare sticker!
Did the thing with the aquaduct, wasn’t going to do much, joined the pen with 9seconds left, so right at the back, rode to the 2nd group, took it relatively easy through the aquaduct to have about 10 ahead of me 10 behind, only for the guy in front to sit up, me be sticky draft behind him and all of a sudden despite me going to 500w as soon as I notice we’re 5-6 seconds down. Work hard with a few others to get back to the first 10 just as the real kom starts, and then I finally sit up remembering I’m taking it relatively easily.
Noticed how slow my bike is compared to everyone else after the finish as my 1.5w has them all passing me at 1w. Maybe I should spend some of the drops, this beginner thing is pretty crap I guess.
Yup!
I really noticed the difference when I upgraded to the Canyon Aeroad and Zipp808/DT Swiss DiCut wheel combo.
New topic
Game update to reduce the amount of riders you see around you in large events - should improve the game for loads of people.
My turbo is broke.
Currently doing 509W for 100bpm
I’m in TDZ 8am start and I could quite easily ride off the front and into 1st place
If my turbo broke like that I’d be setting aside dog walks in favour of completing Uber pretzel in about 2 hours!! Maybe set your weight down to 50kg and see if you can do the Alpe in under a half hour…
There is a road to Sky race in 30 minutes…
…I am going to report myself to ZP
Going to stick my power pedals in until I can get this fixed
Dont know exactly when I got mine as they appeared in the garage before I knew what they were. Must have been up 4 or 5 times at that point.
A+ cat. Enjoy the pain. I think many of them missed their calling as pro’s.
I’m a bit behind on the tdz. Missed stage 3 (kind of on purpose as I hate long climbs lol). Been consistent with 2nd in stages 1,2,4. Don’t know if will get to do 5 before they move on to 6. Prefer if they allowed 7 days for each stage so you could find room to fit it in around the wtrl/zrl stuff.
Fake A+ cat. Broken turbo.
One of my 20 minute powers is 6.42W/kg, which is MASSIVELY skewing the average.
I’ve reported myself for it
I was lucky to the wheels after my 10th trip up the Alpe. I wanted them on principle but never use them as I use the Zipp disc combo for everything.
I had no racing for 3 weeks and was moved back to Cat B and is taking me an age to get back to A. Currently sitting at the warming stage of almost A for me Cat A means fewer riders per event and more realistic power comparisons.
Top 10 in TdZ Cat A, stages 2, 3, 4 and 5… just a rubbish 23rd in Stage 1. May redo if the rest are all top 10 finishes
