Virtual Zwift Rides

Well done Doka, good power for 40 minutes as well.

Thanks, think i’m about back up to 4w/kg now too.

had a trial with Rouvy this afternoon… I really quite liked it!.. I can see myself racing on Zwift (and maybe the odd organised social ride here and there) and doing all my other rides on Rouvy.

If it works, go for it. I did Fulgaz for about a year and enjoyed it. I was paying for Fulgaz, TrainerRoad, and Zwift for one point and streamlined, but it is really good to have healthy competition.

Race number 2 today. Did a 5 lap London race this afternoon, pretty similar to my previous race, everyone and their aunt go flying past and then get into a group of 6 or so and work our way through the packs. Probably got more in my tank than I’m using, more concerned with being spat out the back than going off the front, early days though

Did a training plan workout today. That was pretty relaxed. Going to do a race tomorrow, not sure which one yet. Will pick a flat race, I’ve been honest about my weight and I’ll get cained on the hills.

Ticked off Road to Sky whilst doing my structured trainerroad session.

First time going up the Alpe not in a race. Got gloves on the spinning wheel thing. But no extra gloves in my garage? What does that mean?

I’ve seen from GPLama you want the wheels?

I had similar, spun a helmet and nothing in garage. Did get the gloves the other day.
The wheels are only five or six seconds faster up the alp than the level 4 enves apparently.

4 times up the alp now… Bonus badge next time

Maybe they’re the polka dot gloves I got on stage 2 of Haute Route?

Zwift insider seems to have changed their guidance in the last couple of weeks. It definitely said Rovals were the must buy wheelset early on. Yet now it’s the Enve’s. Grrr.

I’ve got enough for another wheelset now. Can’t decide whether to get the Enve’s or the Zipp 808s for racing…

Did the Alpe again today as well. Easy spin until final 5 corners then pushed it. Got level 25 yesterday and only 3.5k to go to get Tron. Already have the Enve and the Tarmac Pro. Not sure that any other upgrades really make much of a difference.

Yeah polka dot gloves. I think I’ve had them 3 times in a row.

I also thought the 808s one of the best wheel sets you could get - especially early on

I keep the Zipp 202s on for almost everything, on a Madone. If kit is rated the same for aero/weight, other than cosmetics, how can they be different in the Game?! Forgot to switch to the Emonda for the Alpe last week :smirk:

there are differences ZwiftInsider runs loads of tests, ie Cervelo S5 with 858 and disk is faster than tron bike, TT bikes are all different and some by quite a margin

Looks like lots of good rides over the long weekend! Nice win @Doka!

I did the London Classic, cat C and was in the lead group at the foot of Box when my laptop battery died (had been using it for a long Zoom call the night before - bloody real life eh!).

To be fair, I was already on the limit staying in the front group and judging by the W/Kg in the results I’d have gone backwards up the hill so probably saved myself some misery there although a bit gutted not to get the full workout, would’ve been interesting to see what 20 min power I’d have come out with.

Bit of a hip niggle at the moment - I think jumping straight into zwift racing and pushing some big gears has lit up my hp flexors, so will stick to easy riding for a bit and try and tick off some routes.

Ticking along nicely - 2 worlds ticked off now.

Really not fancying the London PRL tho!!
Only 1 ascent of the alp required in Watopia - albeit on the uber pretzel

Glad your liking the zwifthub site I shared! Still quite a way to go for me … 19/67 … but not a bad start seeing as I only joined a few weeks ago, and I’d not really been actively hunting them until this weekend. I’ve got a fair few longer ones ticked off already … nearly all of the easy short ones in Watopia still to bag

Our club is in for the next round of the British Cycling South East series this evening. This time, the men are piggy backing on a crit race. Not done one of those on Zwift before. Course profile seems to have a really short sharp little kicker in it, so there’s that to look forward to 14 times.

Our club has over 20 signed up to race already, almost all in B’s (1 A, 1 C and 1 D).

Yeah initially couldn’t see the point of the hub - must be honest. But gave it a try, having the current worlds selection is great and really easy to trim the list.

Lots of relatively easy NY and London to tick off. Should be about done by time the lockdown lifts

I was similar. Until I realised you couldnt actually access anything in zwift, without first having loaded up the game, and then closing out of it entirely. Keeping a separate track of routes done makes choosing another one to tick off a lot easier

Thanks for that site, I’ll sign up for it later, been wondering the easiest place to see which ones I haven’t done.

The official website is fairly poor for these kind of things, and the app on an iPhone is a bit fiddly with fat fingers.
