Virtual Zwift Rides

Balls, I was 6 seconds slower than when I did this in May. Though I’m actually quite happy with that as I was in the middle of my Cotswolds training block then, so was cycling a lot. Lots of structured stuff as well, whereas the past 3 months I’ve just been plodding along, a few commutes a couple of zwifts lately.

275w AP and 277 NP today
VS
277w AP and 278 NP in May.

So very close.

I died in the last 3 mins today, which caused my ultimate drop. So think similar power is there, just not the endurance past the 15 min mark.

You need a TTT to get your endurance back :flushed:

Good work, won’t take long to get the endurance back, a few TTTs will sort it:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I did one of the Dura Ace Sportive series last night, 36km round London ending up Box Hill. It was just the next event after I logged on, no planning

Wasn’t sure if it was a race or not, a group of about 20 Bs were riding as a blob at around 3.5W/km and no-one attacking. So I decided it probably wasn’t a race and settled in. Until at the foot of Box Hill when all hell broke loose - it was clearly a race!

Everything becomes a race!

Wasn’t that the Keith Hill After Party route, so the reverse side of Leith Hill?

I think group rides on the “after party” routes usually end up as a race up the last climb.

Ah OK - yes think it was. My geographical knowledge stops east of Stonehenge.

Weirdest thing was I got spat out of the back going down the -11% escalator into the tube station & never got back on.It was like there was a secret memo to sprint at that point.

@TTowel Is now ranked No2 in the world at Zwift

Hassan Jassim is a well known to be suspect - kicked out of Canyon for alegedly cheating

Surprised to see Noah Balch in 10th. I have raced against him a few times, and probably beaten him half the times I have raced

That is really impressive, Hywel always seemed like a class athlete & great to see he still has it

2 laps of Paris, 9/12 in Cat B on live scoreboard, 9/9 in the sprint, got caught in a sticky draft just as we hit the Champs and lost the group, managed a simply fantastic 1w improvement for my estimated FTP, there’d be an open top bus parade if we had any diesel.

Down 2.64pts

Last night the dura ace thing steady ride until a biggish hill (Box maybe) group split apart as soon as the incline started, descent chasing and recovering then another climb, trying my best as more watt monsters zoom passed pushed to finish ….prob half way down the starters ……

I see your A category tactics are paying dividends :ok_hand:

Had to have a week off with man flu… will have a crack at something tomorrow if Daz’s teams dont need me.

Can’t see racing B is going to net any points tbh, when we’re down below 300.

Volcano tomorrow lunch - I’ll decide tomorrow on Cat A for points, or Cat B for prizes

Just did London classic reverse, 35km, shame, for some reason I thought I saw 20-odd km, 40 or so Cat Bs in the start pen so I was reasonably ok with finishing 19th, trouble is only 23 finished, no idea on points yet but a suggested FTP increase of 5w so I’ll take it

Had a go at the DBR race, finished about 57th and nil points, despite putting out 297W AP and pretty much the highest W/KG in Cat B.

Missed the big break on the first hill where it reached about 9%, got back into the group for about 50th but the sprint came a bit quicker than I anticipated, not that I’d have gained much.

Decent workout though, but need to ease back for the rest of the week now.
