Virtual Zwift Rides

2/3rds of the way through on distance now

Volcano badges next. Then somehow plan the big 2 in

I’ve just done two of the shorter routes and got the unemployed badge, which reminds me, I need to get back to work.

The perennial nightmare of the London bike commuter. That section after on the segregated bike highway just down from the Tower of London downhill - eek

The worst part for me, which isn’t in Zwift is the CS6 section outside Blackfriars station, no one looks. I nearly wiped someone out there who didnt look

Got to get better at sprinting. 30km New York race, pace was nice, easy to hold lead group. Had 29 in group (out of 240 in race). Pace increase on last lap, lead by me, but could only hold 6th on spint. AP328w for 36min didn’t feel to bad, could have held for an hour no problem.

That’s my part of town, it’s a complete nightmare, that and going past Farringdon station where people just creep out and block the bike lane.

Just ticked off muir and the mountain.

Pretty decent route that, bit of everything. Lead in of just under 5km though

That was my race route last night. Repeating the final section of rollers was horrible! But yes, decent route

Reminder to self… don’t enter a Zwift race, do the first 2 miles at 120% FTP while having forgotten to turn the fan on, and blow up spectacularly in dripping pool of sweat.

Other than that, it was excellent.

Network crash 96km into a 116km race. Was going really well with lead group too.

Anyway 290w avg for 2h7m and feeling really solid. Lots of nutrition practice too

That’s my worry with those long rides, and partly why I’ll never do them.

Slight thread hijack here, would anyone be willing to do this short survey for my friends PhD research? As you are probably sat on saddle’s a lot ATM.

Two routes ticked off this morning. Half PRL with the club as a meetup, and them Tempus Fugit as part of the club weekly segment challenge (Fuego Flats Reverse this week).

Pretty pleased to post a 6th best all time 10min power (3w off third best) after effectively a 3hr warm up

How did you find the PRL half? Annoyed with myself for not doing that last Sunday

Who said 25 laps of the volcano flew by?
I was 2 laps in and questioning my life choices!

Every time I got into a group they peeled off back to the mainland. Finally got a 2up for a decent chunk. Then hit 3 lap pbs in the last 4 laps.

Glad to break 3 hours by a fair bit, coming home in 2:47!

Think I said that in the context of listening to season 2 of 13 minutes to the moon! I did it on a TT bike so was solo the whole way

Really easy actually. I even had it on 100% difficulty on the trainer as I’m testing just how hard everesting would actually be. The laps are short, and pretty much fly by. The hardest bits are the tube exits, especially at 100%. It’s like hitting a wall

Definition of madness is doing a Zwift 100km group ride, but you join 2 mins late
So when they finish you have ‘only’ done 99km. They stop at the finish line, but you carry on for another 2 mins like billy no mates so you do the full 100km
Becuase 100km of virtual distance in a made up game at a made up speed is so much better than 99km?
Madness
I have done this 3 times now !

Ha yes those tube exits are bastards!

So I’ve worked out why I’ve been so off power this week. Nope, not getting sick … One of the girls has accidentally stepped on the turbo and clicked the resistance up a notch or two! So that’s why I’ve been struggling to hit the numbers by a few percent! :man_facepalming:t3::joy:

I think the’ wrong 'setting was actually more accurate, but I’ll stick it back with what the game recommends.

Did the three sisters route this morning and added a few kms to make it up to 2 hrs.
