Did you text your Mum?
Was she proud of you?

“Mum. Mum. Mum. Guess what? I’m ranked in the Tip400 indoor cyclists in the UK”

That’s great, love. But you should get out more.
All of that screen time will make your eyes square.

Well…I get moaned at for riding outside by the old man.
Ironman races are “dangerous”. This coming from the bloke who smokes 40 a day for 30 years and doesn’t move…

Sorry, where were we :grimacing:

I was taking the piss out of you for riding inside when I know the routes where you live are fricking ace on a spring evening

I’m planning on having the afternoon off for an IRL ride so this will be an effort. I’m guessing tupperware is resting up.

Anyone else, I’ll try if it makes up a team as it will be my last for a few weeks.

Likewise, I’ll ride if there’s a team but otherwise might head out for a run :+1:

Not for me this week, but will aim to get back in the saddle for the next one.

Yeah, don’t think I should flog myself too much this week, so will give it a miss. Still got some cold symptoms, but definitely improving today…still testing positive though.

Did a chase race last night, and was just looking at the power curve. Noticed that the max 2 minute power was lower than the max 3 minute power.

Can that be right?

Answer...

Turns out yes it can.

About 3 minutes from the end there was a breakaway, I chased hard for about a minute to get back on. Then settled down to a steady pace for a minute, before a final minute of all out effort to the end.

So the average over the 3 minutes was higher than for any 2 minutes during the race.

Sorry if this is obvious… maybe it’s just me being dim. :grinning:

My TTT’s since Christmas, consistent if nothing else, can probably spot when I got the lurgy!

In a weird kind of a way I’m going to miss the TTT tonight even though it is probably better for my survival

Will somebody be putting an out of office on this thread at the weekend until about September?

Was wondering about putting zwift on hold, assuming they’ll keep all the levels/drops etc?

Yes it all stays there in a sort of suspended animation :+1:

I will be keeping my account open, mostly because I’m too idol to actually pause it, but I will jump back on if the weather is pants or I want to do a hard session etc., or even just a 30 minute leg stretcher.

It’s also the convenience, quite a lot more time efficient to just go in the garage.

Ooo nice stepping up to A again… 6/6 but still an 18pt gain :sunglasses:

Mrs GB’s cancelled social from last week is tonight now, so i have the unusual situation of being free to train on a Fri night (not going to go on the beers this time!).

Thinking i’ll do the longer ToW stage 5 at 8pm. 55 odd kms i think it was, so i’m guessing that’ll be 1.20-1.30 or so if i get a decent group ticking along.

I’ll just have to use the catchup sessions then to pick up Stage 3 that i missed. I’ve not done one of these before, but i’ve quite liked using the motivation of ticking the routes off to get on the bike. It’s also an easy way to have a hard ride, or a steady ride with some efforts, or just cruise round at a steady pace whilst the old drops and XP rack up.

Yeh there was probably a drop in the middle of the 3min at some point?
As an example if you have an av wkg of 15-5-15 for each min. You’d get an av of 10wkg for 2min from start or 2min to end. But your av for the whole 3min would be 11.7wkg.

Just realised I used crazy high numbers for that example. It was just easier as they are divisible by 5

Ahhh shit balls. Got carried away on TOW again! :joy:

2 x drop outs in first 5 mins dropped me from about 290 to 550. Found a couple of guys working their way through.
I started on a solid ~him effort, on the bars. Solid 2.9-3 w/kg or so. But then Titan’s Grove kicked in so power was spiking up and down. Then got caught up just pulling through the field.

Ended up finishing around the 250 or so mark, having made up close to 300 places. Actually finished top of my eventual group of about 15 on the sprint somehow. Think the pace winding up over the last 10 km worked for me.

Shattered now and I can’t even just crash on teh sofa and catch up on E3 as Mrs GB has a friend around so I’ve been kicked out! :joy:
