O.tter is riding at the moment, unfortunately I think the calibration on the power meter is a bit off, she’s not ridden in 2 years so she’s probably a little bit heavier than she was then - however she’s also barely ridden a bike since then so surely she’s not in awesome shape? Just took a today QOM though…
I am still learning. Yesterday evening did a 100km race, 120 Cat A riders. I managed to keep with lead group for 1h40m, before losing concentration, and falling off the back. Managed to finish in 13th place
100km, 2h16m, average power 275w… pretty pleased with that. It was an all time highest 90min power. My tanks hit empty with about 20mins to go, up until that point I was pretty consistently pushing 280-300w
Which event/series was that?
Am looking for some good ones as well
This one
ZHR Audax 100km (Ride)
It was 4 laps of Sand and Sequoias. Normally not that keen on 4 lap races, but this is a pretty good one with 10km of each lap being reasonably hilly and 15km flat. I was using the flat for recovery.
It was a really popular ride, Over 500 people from all Cats. I would recommend
Thanks; I have been doing the 3R stuff and like it
I dont like the races so much becuase I found the group rides are good for endurance and I prefer to do dedicated quality sessions on my own…but might do a few cheeky races to spice things up
Suggestion - the training page is about what training you have done; could we have a thread where we say what Zwift race we are doing> maybe suggest a couple a day and more who join from TT the merrier
Then we can have some post ride banter as well…
That’s what this thread was setup to be - it’s changed into a more general Zwift chat now.
Why dent we set up a TT group ride (not race), surely we have enough usernames to get something going?
I finally got around to setting up a group ride for my club this evening and it was quite easy to do. Just need Zwift usernames and a time that works for people.
Yeah, my club are doing morning and evening “commute” meet ups. The mornings are too early for me though. I’m rolling out of bed at 9!!
I’ve joined the tritalk team hammerer setup on zwiftpower. Don’t know what that really means however in practice!
I’m probably going to try the 12.01 or 13.01 group ride for Stage 1 of Tour of Watopia at lunchtime today. I need to make up stages 1 and 2, and they’re a good way to progress through the levels with the double XP on offer
I’ve done 1 and 5 so will try to tick off the other 3 stages this week.
I’m also looking at the Haute Route event they are running Friday/Saturday/Sunday
I’ve just joined the zwiftpower team - also no idea what it means.
On a side point - its given me 20 min w/kg as 4.0 - RESULT
I will be riding the Haute Route Alpe ride on Saturday morning. Anyone else want to join?
Ok, i’m getting a bit of FOMO now. Also not having the opportunity to get out and about evry day for a run, i may have to resort to Zwift via dumb turbo. Though i’m going to have to try to fix the gears on my bike … don’t worry, that thread is coming!! I’ve ordered some of the WiFi extenders, so should have signal in my shed in the next few days.
How far? Whats the elevation?
I had quatch quest as my next “big” ride - only 45k but 1700m climbing.
I love how you need to use so many 3rd party websites to find any info on stuff.
I picked a couple of routes to do on my indoor commute this morning - was almost late for work, with the 2nd being 10.5km coming in at over 15.5km. How can they get it THAT wrong???
The route may have been 10.5 but it depends where the spawn point is and how long the ride to the start of the route is.
Don’t know exact details yet, however, the Alpe route is 17.9km with 1045m. A reasonably strong cyclist can do it in around an hour
Oi - took me 1h 15 (Zwift Cat B)
Why can’t it spawn you just before the start line? I except a few hundred metres is fine… but 50% of a total ride seems way OTT. I will start paying more attention.
(I work in software testing… its driving me insane some of the software on it lol)
Is it “Road to sky” route??
