What Bike

No, I have done a couple of sections, but the problem at weekends is the fishermen.

They often take up the whole path with their massive rods and make it clear how much of an imposition it is to move for you.

I would also like to do it on the paddleboard, but the problem there is that the rowing club also believe they own the thing.

Weekday might be a better option, even the black shed recently has been infested with the mobile toilet block drivers.

Campers?

About two weeks ago I was leaving the Black shed on a Sunday morning, as usual there was a tailback of camper vans trying to get out of the very narrow road up to slimbridge.

I filtered through to the front and the old man at the head of the queue in his ancient brown Hymer took offence and shouted to me that I needed to maintain 2m clearance from his vehicle at all times, there was no humor in his voice, he was deadly serious.

I suggested that if he wasn’t driving around in a mobile plastic shithouse it wouldn’t have been a problem.

eMTBs

Pick one or all of the following that apply:

  1. I’m old and decrepit (happens to us all…)
  2. I’m lazy
  3. I’m fat
  4. I like motorbikes

I don’t regard them with condescension at the trail centres. I don’t GAF. But only one of us is riding a bicycle and only one of us is mountain biking
