I’ve done one race on indievelo, came last, maybe I should go back to Zwift.
I’ve got a one year zwift sub that ends in December. I’m tempted to just use indievelo for a few months as I will be trying to get more running in as I’m doing London marathon in April. Might go back to zwift in May next year.
Did my first workout on IV. Worked well other than 2 trainer dropouts. I’ve moved the Ant+ dongle closer to the trainer now.
Shouldn’t this be for the PED thread, what was in the bag?
Did a couple of 30min sessions on MyWhoosh last night.
First session I thought I’d paired everything through the laptop but only power displayed during session.
Second session paired through the companion app & everything was tickety-boo.
May give IndieVelo a crack this weekend - if I can be bothered with the inevitable frustrations - to compare the two.
Installed but never opened. Should probably try it out soon.
@Jgav , which of the Strava sessions do you want the kudos on? I’m not giving you 2.
I did 2h15 on indievelo before work. 5:30am.
Are Indievelo and MyWhoosh free? I definitely don’t get my moneys worth from zwift so could change. But will those that are currently free not be in another x months…,? I assume they’re not charitable organisations
Yes, for now at least.
Forgot to delete the second one. Its gone now.
Trainingpeaks has purchased Indievelo.
Oh… interesting.
“TrainingPeaks Virtual (the new name for it) will remain completely free for anyone to use throughout the upcoming (Northern Hemisphere) Winter season. Thereafter, it will continue to be free to use as part of a TrainingPeaks Premium membership.”

Free if you pay for it…
MyWoosh is pretty good, and free. And fast developing. Their business model is different to Zwift, and the amateurs on their platform seem to be more of a MyWoosh esports marketing exercise than a revenue stream. They’re committed to being free, apparently. You can buy things though.
Doesn’t run well on original AppleTV 4K but looks great on my old iPad Pro.
This is really good for premium TrainingPeaks folk - one hell of a perk. I don’t use TrainingPeaks premium (for a few years now), although I do have about 15 years worth of data being synced to it (just in case!). Would I sign up to premium to gain access to this - doubtful. My existing Zwift annual subscription runs out in December so I might switch for a few months to IndieVelo TrainingPeaks Virtual whilst deciding what to do next.

"I’m delighted to announce that indieVelo is teaming up with TrainingPeaks.
From day one, indieVelo was created to serve the needs of athletes, coaches and event organisers – a community of people who share a vision of what online cycling and esports could be if their priorities were put first. With its community-friendly features, realistic racing physics, and a focus on credibility, it rapidly became the number one choice for those committed to training and racing.
The core values of trust and authentic achievement are something that both indieVelo and TrainingPeaks share, and together we are doubling-down on that focus in the future. Joining forces brings both the investment and the expertise needed to take it to the next level – creating a fully integrated seamless training and racing platform, both indoors and out.
Effective today, indieVelo will become “TrainingPeaks Virtual”. Please see TrainingPeaks Virtual for more details and how to download the new application. Note that it is fully forwards and backwards compatible with indieVelo, and all your ride history, race results, rankings and achievements etc are all preserved.
TrainingPeaks Virtual will remain completely free for anyone to use throughout the upcoming (Northern Hemisphere) Winter season. Thereafter, it will continue to be free to use as part of a TrainingPeaks Premium membership.
The option to join the indieVelo Founders Club however is now closed. Existing members will receive a separate email about how their benefits will transfer to TrainingPeaks. The ability to wear your own custom team kit while you ride in the virtual world is now freely available to everyone.
Over the coming weeks and months ahead, we will be updating TrainingPeaks Virtual together to combine the best of TrainingPeaks and indieVelo into a seamless online and offline training and racing experience. Starting immediately, you can now log in using either your TrainingPeaks Username/password, or your existing indieVelo account. Shortly, we will also add full synchronization of your data – training zones, training plans, calendars, FTP, height, weight etc etc – making it as easy as possible for you and your coach to help you achieve your goals with a one-stop-shop under a single TrainingPeaks account.
This is an incredibly exciting time, and I’m really looking forward to working closely with the TrainingPeaks team to transform what’s possible with an online cycling platform, and the benefits it can bring to athletes and coaches. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed their support, ideas and suggestions along the way – the strength of the indieVelo community has been central to its success so far, and I have no doubt that will continue under the TrainingPeaks Virtual banner as well. Please do keep your thoughts coming as to what you would like to see next, as we continue to define the future of virtual sport.

Same. Although I have thought about it a few times recently. Could change my mind if I could get the usual 20 - 25% discount and the exchange rate was decent.
I’m sure I used to put in some made up USA address from a state where they charge zero sales tax to help keep the cost down.
Think it’s a good thing overall. Whilst it’s great that it’s free, at some point it has to become sustainable. I’ve not got a TP premium sub, but getting that and Indievelo for $125 pear year seems reasonable compared to Zwift for £18p/m (annual price?).
