Zwift Alternatives

The workout tab is the first thing that loads for me on PC.
There are probably too main setting tbh, I had to play with the settings for a while before I got it how I like it.

One click to select workout / start, goes to >
Settings and calibration page, two more click if calibrating, one click if not.

I have run it on my phone but Id struggle to do more than an hour as it kills the battery.

Mywoosh has been very reliable for me so far. Using an old iPad Pro.

Although most of the time I’m wondering why I want an avatar while I’m doing a workout. It’s kind of nice, and it’s free :man_shrugging:

I saw it for the first time today, it looked crap, and the avatars really awful, lots of wiggling arses standing up for 2w/kg, wasn’t impressed - not that I was riding.

Tried it today for the first time. Liked the zone part if the display.

Really didnt like the avatars, didnt match what I was doing at all. Standing and sprinting when I put even a small bit of effort in, not very realistic.

Let’s be honest here …!
All this watts per kg ( outside of the pros ) is total bollox.

( As a triathlete ) if your fat as soon as you get off the bike …. Your fucked anyway !

Again. Let’s see how long the partnership lasts this time.

I’m saying nothin’!

I thought that.

Ray’s opinion piece is thought provoking though. Here could be another direction to this if Rouvy/FulGaz bread and butter are cyclists. Not triathletes as he says.

Ha ha
That’s not aimed at you or any other tri talkers

We are running an hour bike challenge ( on the over reading !) c2 bikes.
There measuring it in cals …!
8 efforts I’m currently fourth place but hopefully will improve my score next week.

Trying to explain w/ kg to 90 kilo crissfitters who beat me by 9 and 11 cals that going up hill … you know the rest ?!

Just a bit of fun … dry January is biting now.

I should have gone on the RANT thread I guess!

I give it 5 years. Because that’s the contract. Typical Ironman Corporation… visit the staff for the first time and lay them all off immediately. Despicable corporate behaviour. (So glad I never got the tattoo!)

Yeah, I’m no fan of them either. I don’t remember the exact detail but didn’t they announce a multi-year partnership last time and it lasted about a year when they bought Fulgaz?

Fork me!

The menu system on TPV is shocking slow.
So frustrating.

Zwift is slick and simple to get started.

Trying MyWhoosh now.

The fact both of the alternatives are crap has been putting me off indoor cycling.

Soon be time to enjoy warmer rain in spring and summer :joy:

Isthere’s something funky with your setup🤷‍♂️. The remote on ATV is pants but I’m sure I can go from telly on to riding on TPV in under a minute (never timed it but could also be quicker).

I do usually just ride ’ A bit of everything’ or ‘A bit of everything in reverse’ which is always selected when I turn it on. Maybe it remembers the last ride.

Nothing funny at all.
Just an ATV with TPV installed.
The remote sensing is garbage, but only on that app.

MyWhoosh doesn’t work at all.
4GB download this morning, tried four maps, all crashed. So deleted it. Again.

Nope.

Hard wired in and TPV is still utterly shite.

Remote doesn’t work.
Seven minutes in and I’m not even through the menu system.

Utter garbage.

Pissed off.

I timed it after your last post but forgot the actual time. It was under a minute though from clicking on the app to riding the ‘Bit of everything course’ that was already selected at the top of the list.

The remote is carp though and I’ve had the terrain map disappear a couple of times which was a shitter as I wanted to do an effort on the climbs.

I won’t be paying for it, might as well pay Zwift the extra few quid for the few months I’ll need it.

How?!?

The ATV remote is perfect with Zwift and YouTube, but TPV simply doesn’t respond.

It was way over seven minutes this morning.
Including booting up, which also takes ages.
A whole damn video gone!!!
