Really strong riding tonight, well done guys. I was toast by half way and cruised home. Some big watts from the usual suspects :mechanical_arm: :mechanical_arm:

Tonight’s race was brought to you by ā€œWill Funkster’s calves completely cramp up before the end?ā€

I’m miffed that freeloader hung on and took the line. Don’t get at 76kg how he was cruising around at 2wkg.

I still feel like I could puke. Was comfortable till 5k to go…

Sorry guys, couldn’t get a voice channel on Discord. Was messing around with it and missed the start. Also still crash damaged so a bit below par.

Sorry chaps couldn’t hang for the second climb, been a little off all week and HR was running 5-10 higher than usual for the effort so perhaps blowing was inevitable.

It was a bit like Forrest Gump running across the USA, we seemed to be picking up all sorts as we went.

Good ride all, top work.

I felt fairly good tonight, although it was shorter. I’ve also been a bit lazy this week so was probably a bit more rested.

We did pick up a few passengers. The German group just behind us weren’t happy about the one that latched onto them and were telling him go away :joy:

So final time of 41:31 gave us a 76/149
Course record for P1 in 37:37

The top 26 teams had 7 or 8 riders. Strength in depth seems to be really key.

Top 13 teams all had the max of 3 Cat As as well.

We lost a little bit of time at the start and mid-way as well. Certainly a couple of cat A’s on the front would make things easier.

Although I do it more for the training that to get near the front.

Exactly this.

Sorry to say, but all you’re ever gonna get from me is a consistent power output for the duration. No turns/dropping back.
Just gonna pedal at a rate I think I can hold for the event and keep my VI down

Looked back at the first time we did this route

11th June
43:23
318W NP
137 HR
1.03 VI

24th September
41:36
325W NP
142 HR
1.01 VI

Similar for me, I’m generally averaging 300W and struggle to get much above it consistently.

Ave HR was 161 but did drift towards the end and on the final hill, but that’s around 50M TT HR, although I’m fairly sure I don’t think I’d get that power on the road for the same HR.

Although some weeks it feels a lot harder than others.

That’s interesting, nearly 2 minutes faster but only 7W more power. Wonder why? More people taking turns at the front maybe? - I seem to remember you were at the front for much of the June TTT but it’s a bit hazy

Anyway, could you lend me those 7W next time, I could really use them

I’m not sure its right… but I can’t find us on WTRL for that date… did we get DQ??
My strava shows;

ZP Profile;

But we had a finish time of 47:58 (can’t work out the start delay).

Edit : yes we did get DQ

The VI was 1.03 for the first one and 1.01 last night so a much more consistent effort, so that is probably the reason

Managed 1.00 when we did London back in July

I don’t fancy next week much…

Pan flat and 40k!!
Tho his title says 2 Laps and the detail say 3

Joy. All aboard the Funskster and Jeff train…

Did they not do the worlds course this year?

Choo-choo

Didn’t the UCI decide to hold the event in Imola last month?
