For my sins, got to agree with @Poet on this one.

You missed an aspect in your science fact. That naughty little ‘s’.

Ah, but you’ve assumed there are an even number of peaks, but there are an odd number of peaks (check wikpedia - 129!), so the middle is therefore at the top of a peak, and therefore it’s all downhill - obviously I’ve smoothed things in the picture to hopefully make it clearer.

Have you cycled in the Peaks?
The road surfaces are poor, every descent is directly into a dry stone wall 90° turn at the bottom, then straight into a 16% hill up the other side.

There are seven dales criss-crossing the Peaks and it feels like you’re constantly climbing :sob:

Also, the weather :sob:
Bloody micro climates everywhere.
Especially as you cross over onto the Staffs Moorlands :dash:

Oh shit, new information, 7 dales, so the middle of those is at the bottom - so we have the middle of the peaks at a peak, and the middle of the dales at a dale, I think it’s probably easiest to just cancel it all out - so not all downhill - just flat!

I avoid it all now and go west, life is peaceful there, in the open air … we’ll, it’s flat/downhill out and usually a tailwind back home :joy::face_with_peeking_eye:

Day 7

deja-vu

Another long coach ed day, back up with a bottle of red and a 4 am finish…

Day 8

First run for a while…2 very easy km to the shop and then 2 km back. Left calf still tight, lungs still straining but with as much focus on form as I could muster on a trip to the shops…

Let’s see how it feels in the morning…

It pops out at the top of Long Hill reverse (near the clay pigeon shooting place)

Day 12

3km trail run to re find some form and ease my calf through another session…

All good for 1km…had to focus hard on form for 1km…wobbled going over a floating pontoon and felt the calf tighten…

Lot’s of stretching tonight…
